I have been getting calls on my caller ID from an 817 area code... no idea who it was who is calling during the day. They finally called when I was home and even after I corrected them about my name THREE times, they go into their shpiel about how they can save me money, yada yada yada.

I started asking questions about what was in it for them... so the girl puts her supervisor on the phone (who sounded like my 15 year old nephew). He goes into his shpiel TOTALLY talking down to me as if I don't know the basics of finance. Despite me asking him about 5 times what was in it for them and how much their "membership" costed, and why would I go with them versus calling my banks myself and working something out on my own, he goes into this long drawn out explanation. I work in sales, and was not born yesterday (which I explained to him).

Then he asked me for my credit card number which I said I would not give to him over the phone. He fed me his scripted line of "I sense that you might feel there might be fraud or something on your card... blah blah blah" and I had to explain to him AGAIN that I don't divulge personal financial information to anyone over the telephone. After he told me the "membership" would cost $795 and was talking to me like I was a 3 year old, I had to tell him that as a fellow salesperson he needs a few lessons.... like not talking to potential customers in a condescending manner. He didn't understand.

Please do not do business with this company. It sounded like a scam from the minute I answered the phone. I knew full well I wouldn't use their "service" and really wanted to jerk this guy around because I know he's doing it to people who might be desperate enough to believe them. Especially in this economy, banks are more than ever willing to work with people. You don't need a 3rd party to do it. And most importantly, don't EVER give anyone personal financial data over the phone.
