In 1997 I responded to an ad by First USA to transfer higher balances to their card. They advertised a fixed rate of 3.9% for the fisrt five months and then a fixed rate of 12.99% after that.
Imagine my surprise when I received my statement yesterday with an interest rate of 21.95%. I pay my bill on time and have no credit problems with them or anyone else.
Now my interest has increased so much that my monthly payment only covers the interest.
When I called the "customer service" line they could not help me or explain why it happened. I was NOT notified of the change in interest!
What a rip-off!!!
