FLEET CREDIT CARD SERVICE ripoff on interest rates Wilmington Delaware

I started out about a year ago with 10.99% fixed interest. Then I got a statement and they had changed my fixed interest to 12.99% variable without my knowledge.

When I contacted them they said they sent a letter prior to the statement telling me and I could have opted out!! (YEAH RIGHT) like I was going to ask for this variable rate !!. Well not much you can do about that I assumed.

Now as of today 10/27/03 I got my monthly statement and guess what? They decided it should be 18.49%. Take note. I have made every payment plus additional monies on balance. Never late and always before time.

When I called them today they said they checked and I had to many people looking into my credit history and that is why they did it plus I had a high balance too. I never asked for the amount of credit they extended to me so what is it any of their business who ask about my credit reports.

I talked to a rude service rep who told me I couldn't say that they didn't send a letter this time because I didn't know if they did or not. I might understand this if I hadn't kept my payments up and on time but since I do; what is the problem? Oh yea!! When I was through screaming at him he said he would put it back to 13.99% and I am too mad to even care. I just told him they wouldn't get by with it this time.
