I had been a customer of Citibank for 2 years and had no problem with them. I had a great interest rate and no hassles with the company. Last month (February) I received an offer for a Fleet card with no balance transfer fees and 0% interest on transfers until November.

After that it would be a fixed 9.9% on transfers and purchases. I wanted to try and get out of quick and thought this would be an easy way to pay the card off quicker. I applied, was accepted and did all the transfers. I made 1 purchase after that and within a week I received a letter in the mail that i had exceeded my credit limit. Since I had carefully planned all these transactions I didn't know how I could have possibly gone over my limit.

I called customer service and was told that the agreement was 9.9% on all transfers and 0% on purchases and that the interest and finance charges had put me $45 over my limit. Needless to say, I was livid. All the representative could say to me was that threre must have been some misunderstanding on my part. I told him then and there that his company was a fraud and that i wanted my account closed immediately.

I did not want to do any business with a company that would cheat me. Two days later I received a phone call from this company demanding payment immediately. Keep in mind that I have not even had this card for a month and haven't even received the first bill.

I told him that I did not want anyone calling my home anymore and he replied that since my account had been turned over to collection, he couldn't say that I wouldn't get any more calls.

My account that began as a transfer of $5400 has now become a "collection" of $5610.01, and that's only if I send them a payment of at least $155 within 1 week. After that the amount will go even higher.Stop the insanity. Boycott Fleet
