We signed up with this dept management service to help pay creditors. They took $500.00/month for 8 months and paid no one.
We called to cancel the service and were told that we only had $233.00 in our account. The rest of the money went to "client fees". Their contract says a fees is charged and the rest of the money will go into an escrow account to hold to pay creditors.
No where does it say the entire amount is a fee. Now we're out $3000.00 that we could have paid to creditors.

I myself was defrauded by this company several months back. Long story short I enrolled with ACCELERATED DEBT MANAGEMENT (or HELPUDEBT) as they are better known under the parent name in an attempt to reduce my substantial debt load. After enrolling my accounts about $700 for "fees" for the first month, I would pay $322 each month after.
Having known the facts, Debt Settlement holds the money in an escrow account until a certain "percentage" is available to settle your debt. Little did I suspect the vast majority of my monthly fee is actually paying their fees. Seriously how do these people sleep at night? Despite being promised that my account managers would go to bat for me, they did not! They assured me that they would talk to my creditors, and take care of the harassing phone calls and letters, and as stated they did nothing but take my money towards their fees. My creditors continued to call me, and I would as instructed alert HelpUDebt of all correspondence (letters and statements included). Every time I called inquiring if they were able to contact my creditors, their typical answer was "I left a message for *individual's name* to contact me."
When I finally decided to unenroll as I could not handle the stress any longer nor get anyone to help out, the $322 I was spending per month went towards and I only received $187.50 refunded, when I was originally quoted $29.95 times the number of months I was enrolled. Which if you do the math, 4 months times = $257.16.
Fortunately, even though my accounts were charged off, I was able to contact both creditors immediately after unenrolling and agree to a comfortable repayment plan.
STAY AWAY FROM HELPUDEBT! They will RAPE you to no ends!
