JBC & Associates JBC & Associates threatening to file claim. No legal proof to back it up! Bloomfield New Jersey

JBC & Associates had previously sent me a letter informing me of money that I owed on a bad check written in 1997. I called and asked for further proof, but they were not able to provide me with anything. They were very rude and asked me if I was argumentive like every other person in New Jersey. They then said that if I were a honest person I would do the right thing and pay them. Is this guy kidding me?

They then called my house last night threatenting to file a claim if I did not pay them. Again, I told them that I need further proof of the check, but they were not able to provide anything.

Aren't New Jersey Statute of Limitations 3 years anyways?
I would really like to see these guys put away! I am tired of people taking advantage of our rights.
