Transunion has never been known as being cooperative for removing erroneous information, especially since a large number of their subscribers are the bottom-feeder "collection agencies" that purchase outdated information from them. Very few legitimate creditors actually bother with Transunion, due to their largely outdated information. I know this from personal experience. They fought me tooth and nail when my own private attorney contacted them regarding an issue with Calvary Portfolio. I got the same letter; never mind my attorney does business litigation.

You can do credit disputes yourself. However, Lexington Law Firm does not "impersonate" anyone..you gave them permission to dispute information on your behalf when you sign up for their services. There is nothing illegal about disputing legitimate erroneous information.

Lexington and I have resolved our dispute. Although I have some concerns about their marketing, they have acted honorably in getting this matter settled with me.

I first used Lexington over 2 years ago and just recently signed back on. Initially, I was doubtful they could succeed in getting anything removed but my credit was such at the time that I had nothing to lose in trying. To my surprise, they did get many items removed from all 3 bureaus, including some extremely tough entries that I was told would be impossible to remove. I just retained them again to help with a few more items and I'll be finished.

Plus, they were very communicative in keeping me updated and easy to reach by phone or email. They do have several attorneys on staff. You can communicate directly with them, in fact. It is true that the bulk of the work is handled by paralegals, but it is not fair to discount their credibility or knowledge because they are not attorneys. They are legal professionals who service a very particular segment of law and do so on a daily basis, so their process works well. In my opinion, they are very good at it. You should have given them a chance.

I have read this report from someone in Utah re: being represented by a law firm, and he or she felt that that means having an attorney and I stress...AN attorney represent you.

Perhaps this person needed some clarification. Sometimes an attorney has a conflict with another case and can not go two matters at once because they are in different courts, or perhaps they are on vacation and something comes in that needs to be handled immediately because it is time sensitive.... so a paralegal or another attorney handle the matter.

Given what this firm charges in fees, it is very small compared to the hourly rate of an attorney depending where you are... some I have seen as high as $600. per hour.

Given all that, paralegals are very important people in a firm... they are the right hand to an attorney and no matter what type of law you are in ...... attorneys can not always be there for you, but there is a good chance a paralegal is, and they usually know the workings of the case better than anyone... the attorney is what is goes in front when court time comes, or a license is required.

I have an issue to deal with, and after some research I can see that Lexington Law is up on their gig on this type of stuff, and I have not a clue where to start. It would take me hours to figure it out, and then because I am not in the network I might make mistakes.. so I have farmed out what I need to them because I think that there is something to be said for people who do this all day long, everyday.

I farmed out what I needed to to them a month or two ago, and Yes, there are paralegals.. but you are going to use an attorney to do what a paralegal can easily do as well, and spend more money? My guess is that an attorney is assigned to each office, maybe more than that. Each firm hires paralegals, (Keep in mind that to be a paralegal like an attorney you NEED to be licensed!) Paralegals will cost you less, and in turn this company has figured out how to bulk it all together, maximize the efforts and then put it out to you for a small price.

I dont know what kind of people use this service... maybe there are some who want something for nothing.. but I have learned that the best thing to do in life is to do what you can and farm out the rest.. it might cost you something, but in the end you will come out ahead.

Most of the time I get a memo from a paralegal, but it appears that an attorney is reviewing the files periodically as they should and so far I dont see that they are doing anything wrong.

When you are respresented by a law firm, you are represented by the FIRM, not an ATTORNEY, and this is a difference that most dont understand. If you are represented by an attorney that person has to be there for you, and in turn you pay for those services. This way, you save money and PROBABLY get as good a result if not better than just having an attorney represent you....

Law firms today are aware they need to cut costs to their clients.. this work is all procedural.. you dont talk to anyone.. it is just forms............. so my question is now this.. if all the work is procedural, and an attorney can not work his magic on a PERSON.... why not use paralegals to process the work??? I see you can consult with the attorney in person............ you just have to be willing to pay more.

I know this person is upset.. maybe a letter was bad or they wondered what was happening, but I think like it all .. this is a process, and it needs to be treated as such. You did not get here in a day, and it will not go away in a day either.

When you sign up, the contract tells you that you will be working with Paralegals who do all the "footwork" for the attorny's. They even send you an email when you first sign up explaining this.  I used their service back in 2007 and they successfully had several items removed from my Transunion as well the other 2 agencies.  I just recently signed back up with them and right off he bat, have been in constant communications, plus their website gives you regular updates on everything they are doing on your behalf.   I am sure each individuals credit situation is different and the worst take more time.  If your looking for an overnight "fix" this is not the firm.  Nobody can, and if they promise you that then watchout because they are probably a scam.  If you hired an attorney then the paralegals will be doing all the work anyway !! the attorney basically "signoff" on their work, so don't get taken by attorny's although you will probably get more "personal" service.  But if you use an attorney be prepared to pay the $$ attorney rate !!!!.  One more thing, I have only paid them the initial $9.99 fee.  I am set up for an automatic draft and they are already sending out letters on my behalf, and working my case !!!

I have been reading a lot of negative posts on various blogs about Lexington Law Firm and I can tell you, most are from folks that have really bad credit and they expect this firm will create a miracle and get their credit repaired in a month.  It does not happen that way, folks.  I mean honestly, if you defaulted on a credit card, owe the money which you used for whatever, and now have a negative mark on your reports(s), do you honestly expect this to go away if you just hire someone and/or dispute validity yourself?  NOT. 

Stop sending negative reports because you F'd up and want it fixed.  NOBODY is going to fix your crap if it is legit.  Stop whining and take care of your debts.  Period.

What these guys do is represent you in legit cases.  Yes, most, if not all work is done by a paralegal but this is stated up front.  Regardless, ever hired a lawyer???  Major money and the paralegals are doing most of the work.  Kinda like having a CEO of a company and staff under him/her. 

I have been a customer previous and they did an AWESOME job.  Like I have the time to write letters to creditors and follow up,etc.  My $30 a month went a long way and after about 7 months, incorrect/duplicate items were removed and my score went up about 100 points.
