Love, Beal & Nixcon I had a bad credit card debt from 2005 and when trying to sell my home in 2009, they had not filed a release at the county courthouse in 4 years. Therefore, it was a nightmare closing on my home. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

In 2005, I was served with by Love, Beal & Nixon to pay a credit card debt to Capital One.  I immediately went to their office and paid it in full.  I paid a gentleman named Mr. Belcher.  I then felt the matter was closed and they would release the judgment.  In September 2009, I was selling my home and in checking my credit report, they found that the judgment had not been released and therefore, in order to sell my home I had to get a release on the judgment or pay it AGAIN!  Luckily, I called and they had a copy of the release but still to this day it has not been filed.  It was $1600 additional monies to be taken out of my proceeds.

To this day, it has not been released and is still on my credit report.  I know that it is additional cost to law firm to filed a release but that it all part of the pay-off.  Or so I thought. 

I'm wondering what it will take to clear this debt.  It has been almost 5 years and I am wondering what my next step will be.

They can sure threaten and collect but they do not follow through to the letter of the law.
