Merchants Credit Guide Teams up with NCO Portfolio Management to rip off consumers Chicago Illinois

I recieved a letter in the mail regarding an alleged debt of approximately 1500 from Merchants Credit Guide. I have never heard of Merchants Credit Guide Co. nor NCO Portfolio Mangement, Inc. or Associates National Bank all of whose names were listed as owners of this debt. According to the letter they allege I owe a debt of 1500. I wanted to learn more about the companies involved. After a quick search on the net I learned that NCO Portfolio owned NCO Financial and this company was taken to court by the US Goverment and fined the largest civil FCRA fine in history! Apparently, this company utilized fraudulent practices to attempt to collect from consumers past debts that had lasted longer than seven years! I am sure that this company is actively working with other debt collection agency by utilizing a partnership. Hire another collection agency to harrass innocent consumers. Well, the buck stops here. I hope that this information can help some of you out there. Good Luck.
