Orchard Bank Credit Card, HSBC Card Services Money Making Scondrals City Of Industry California

Several years ago, approximately 1997 or 1998, I purchased a credit card from Orchard Bank out of California, because they said they could help me "solve my money problems and receive a better credit report". I received a card with a $250.00 credit limit. I used it, paid on it, and then I lost my main job in 1998. Of course the interest grew, but I paid on it as I could and charged some medications after getting a job at a pharmacy.

From then the balance continued to grow, and grow, and grow until it was in the Thousands of dollars. No matter how much I paid per month, the balance was not dropping. I finally was able to pay the complete balance in April of this year, 2007, and I cut up the credit card. I called them and told them what I had done. They did not request me to send in the destroyed card and I threw it in the garbage.

The next month I received a bill for $4.79 (or close to that) and I called the telephone number listed on the billing. They said they were sorry that it had happened and would take care of it. I received another billing the following month for $34.96 with a late charge of $30.00, a finance charge of $1.12 leaving me a balance due of $67.08, and bless their little hearts, they raised my limit to $480.00. Now wasn't that nice?

I then went to the website and e-mailed them that I was not going to pay this amount because my account was closed and the card destroyed. I told them of the telephone conversation I had with their representative and if they (pardon my language) thought they were going to string me along again like they did before they could take the $67.08 and stick it where the sun don't shine.

I have not charged anything on this card since the year 1999, it has been nothing but interest charges and late fees. I just can't seem to get them off my back and I am ready to do anything that it takes (short of blowing up the place) to get rid of this. I have reported them to Experian and the other two credit bureaus, but have not seen any change in my reports.
