I do not not have a problem paying what I owe to Providian for my Getsmart account, but I have been victimized by Emerge and I refused to let the company continue to rip me off.
I called the company in December, after receiving my first billing statement from Emerge, to have my billing cycle changed to what it was when I had a GetSmart account. I was assured that the change was fine and that my billing cycle would be changed in accordance with what I needed. This should not have been a problem but instead of changing the cycle to what it was supposed to be they move it to be due 3 days earlier. This really made no sense.
I tried to correct the problem several times with costomer service and continue to have the phone line dropped after going through the process of verifying my personal information 3 times.
When I finally spoke to a costomer service person that spoke English, I was hung up on. I then make a call to the collections office where I spoke with an account manager. My only concern was making sure the account was corrected in the manner which it supposed to reflect and to have the late fee removed but I completely received no cooperation from the any representative at Emerge Master Card.
I will fill a formal complaint with the BBB. Something must be done about this!!!
