I ordered the free Annual Credit Report and paid the $7.95 fee to get my credit score. I received a message from them saying they could not give me my score or report because there was a third party involved. No more information. The next month I received my credit card bill and they had indeed charged my card the $7.95

#1 Consumer Suggestion

US credit reporting agencies suspicious of greater fraud on the public

AUTHOR: Steve - Asheville (U.S.A.)

I have a post under Equifax/Chase Bank regarding a mortgage situation through them with federal guarantee behind it and recent experience dealing to credit agencies and running into this mysterious "3rd party" your post spoke of too.

For years I have been saying this as well as my CPA, but I today now believe there really is some massive con game going on between lenders, credit reporting agencies as well as a "3rd party" agency called Equifax Mortgage Solutions, Inc out of Gibbsboro, NJ who have NOT one thing to do with the real Equifax credit reporting agency nor are they a credit reporting agency, but will tell you are a "tri-pulling organization" that provide a service to mortgage brokers and lenders who come to them.... Without going into great details here, we just had a mortgage broker insist we pay a large fee to him for this NJ group to artificially boost our credit score for a mortgage appliciation which would have them gone onto the USDA and underwriters for the loan request- and at this point I said STOP and pulled out of the deal with the realtor who sent us to this loan broker here.... And NOW they are calling me and my wife "uncooperative" for not paying some dubious fee promising in less than 72 hours my wife's score can be elevated 9 points higher to qualify us for better rate on the loan application !!!.... THIS IS FRAUD AND YET IT IS GOING ON PEOPLE....

A complicated game that basically wants to create "bad" for people all in the name of making more monies for, by and through the very 3 major reporting agencies the consumer is suppsoed to trust with their private information. I would love the Obama administration to investigate this as something definitely is not kosher, and in our experience as recent as this morning calling TransUnion & Equifax both, it seems even with legitimate real supporting documentation, the credit bureaus refuse to accept or recognize it or the facts on it from various grantors/debtors as the case may be and in fact, seemingly WANT to keep people looking as negative as posisble for a longer period with burden against them or the facts, instead of doing the right thing and proeprly updating & correcting real factual data that is substantiated and documented to them as is suppsoed to be the required process for the consumer to each of the 3 credit reporting agencies.....
