Banksafe misrepresentation, told me they from the bank found out they are an independent company ripoff Hoboken, New Jersey

I recieved a call from a sales rep from banksafe in febuary stating that she was from my bank and that they had investigated my account and found that i was due to recieve a 1000.00 dollars because of fraud and ripoffs for another company. she said that if i wanted to go after these people that it would cost me 400.00 dollars and that the monies would not be taken out until the settlement.

she even had my account number and routing number. I agreed seeing that the ball was already rolling. The next week I found that Banksafe had withdrawn the monies. After several attempts ( being put on hold for 20 minutes. Then the infamous one is you have to speak to the billing department) I finally spoke to someone whom informed me that in order for you to recieve the monies you have to show them the error in your account and not them. I informed her that this was not what i was told and wanted a refund. they said that because I was in my 60 day window to get an refund but that I had to fax in an service cancellation request.

I faxed in my request on feb 22 2007 for a full refund. after three weeks I did not hear anything I refaxed my cancellation form on March 12 2007. I received a call saying that the request was being processed.

After three weeks I got the president of the company(ari Tietolman) phone number I gave him my account number and he reassured me that i was going to get my refund but because they only mail out refunds at the beginning of the month I would have to wait until the first of april to get it.

It is now April 20 2007 and I have not recieved any refund. As for Mr Ari phone number all I ever get is his machine directing me to his assistant and if you call customer care thats a 20 minute wait then they will pass you onto the billing department whom is handling the refunds.

NOBODY EVER ANSWER THAT NUMBER

Recovery Scams. If you buy into any of the above scams, you're likely to be called again by someone promising to get your money back. Be careful not to lose more money to this common practice. Even law enforcement officials can't guarantee they'll recover your money.

How would they know if another company (other than themselves) ripped you off? Why would they just randomly take your bank account and "investigate" it? I would call your bank and alert them to this fraud.
