I went to http://www.annualcreditreport.com and received my three reports, but when Trans Union said get your free credit score as well is where it all started.
http://annualcreditreport.transunion.com I signed up for the “free” score, but it ended up into a 7 day free trial, needed a credit card, their excuse to obtain that info was to verify identity. Even though they already ported over all my proprietary credit personal information to their wholly owned subsidiary and not under regulation site http://www.zendough.com (where they use the TransUnion name like they are them). It is the second day of the FREE trial (be reminded I will be billed in 5 days @ ~$15 per month till I make them stop). First I received a thank you email, no problem, no contact info to cancel, anyway I found the contact info tab on their site, see below with no email contact info. I called them, tried to cancel with the selection #4 cancel, left me on hold for 15 minutes, a person answers and asks me for my Social Security Number (Yes Frist Thing Out Of His Mouth). I denied giving it to him, but gave him my name, email and phone number and month and day of my birthday. After much back and forth he would not cancel my “free credit score”, asked for a supervisor, I was hung up on. Second try, pressed 1 for help signing up, answered after the second ring. Said I want to cancel, they again, first thing asked me for my SS#, same thing again and actually got to a supervisor and they said the same thing as the others. To date no cancellation has happened to my “free credit score”. I also seems that they also can take any and all of your info and give it out like candy to others if you read their T&C’s, as well as they are definitely in the money making business with Annualcreditreport.com, not to protect our consumer interests.
