Received a check in the mail today. From a company called Global Clearance INC but made out on a check from Mohawk Carpet Corporation. I knew from the getgo it was a scam.

I contacted the Mohawk folks and am one of several calls they have received about their checks being sent to folks. The scam is to deposit said check into your checking account and then calling Global Clearance and making arangements to send them $3400 of the $4450.00.

Then Global will send you a special check for the remaining $120,000 that I supposedly won in some lotto up in Canada.  Yeah, right, sure I did. 

I recognized this for what it was, a ripoff scam. However I wanted to make sure that if anyone else got this that they would not try and cash check and wind up being ripped off.

I hope these folks get put out of business and into jail where they belong.
