REED PUBLISHING /INFOTEL PUBLICATIONS/ VERICOM/METROPOLITAIN MEDIA INC/ 3189651 CANADA INC. are the same company. The oldest and the largest Business to Business Directory SCAM in Canada known as B2B Telemarketing.

The new Bogus Directories are REED Directory of American Business, REED Toll-Free Business Directory, REED Canadian Business Directory.(Interesting that Canada will be Scammed again)

REED PUBLISHING, REED COMMERCE is the new working company name for the FRANK FAMILY INFOTEL PUBLICATIONS/ INFOTEL/ VERICOM Business Directory SCAM.

The office moved from Buchan to Jean Talon Street in Montreal. The Tel # remains the same as INFOTEL.

The Franks hide behind FAT PAT, who is down as the owner but the REAL owners are the Franks - Gordon, Ted and Sean.

The former Infotel and Vericom Directory is now the Reed Business to Business Directory.

1) You are fooled by REED PUBLISHING Sales; we are calling to UPDATE your CURRENT listing? CURRENT? You never had it before.

2) You are fooled when the REED PUBLISHING shipping department calls you with a fast talking telemarketer verifying your address and quoting the price.

3) You think you have to pay after hearing the Recorded conversation of the above call.

4) You are fooled the 2nd, 3rd, 4th time etc. These are referred to as LOADS and are ILLEGAL in Canadian telemarketing. Some companies just pay and pay forever until someone smart realizes they don't need the worthless directory.

REED PUBLISHING can only be stopped by complaints to your State Attorney General and to the State Attorney General of upstate New York where REED PUBLISHING collects its mail and ships out their directories. This closes the State to REED PUBLISHING. A few states are already closed for them.

Stop REED PUBLISHING; tell them they are the Famous INFOTEL PUBLICATIONS, FRANK FAMILY SCAM.

What else do you do? Hang up & don't pay. You will keep receiving invoices, ignore them, they can't do anything. When they keep calling & faxing contact the Canadian Competition Bureau, The Federal Trade Commission and your Local Attorney General. Don't forget the BBB.

UPDATE: 06/02/2009 : The Famous Franks and their SCAM TELEMARKETING OPERATION - REED Publishing get tackled by FTC.

The FTC has been granted temporary restraining orders against 6555381 Canada Inc. and 3189651 Canada Inc., doing business as Reed Publishing, halting the deceptive practices and freezing the defendants' assets

The Federal Trade Commission has filed suit to halt the illegal operations of telemarketing boiler rooms in Montreal, Canada. The agency alleged that the telemarketers bilked thousands of small- and medium-sized U.S. businesses and non-profits, including churches, schools, and charities, out of millions of dollars by deceiving them into paying for listings they never ordered in worthless business directories.

The FTC's complaints alleged that the companies made three misrepresentations that violated the FTC Act. First, they led the small businesses and non-profits they targeted to believe that there was a pre-existing relationship between them. Second, they falsely claimed that those organizations had agreed to purchase directory listing services. Third, they falsely claimed that the organizations owed money for these supposed services.

The Commission vote to authorize staff to file each of the complaints was 4-0. The complaints were filed in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against: 6555381 Canada Inc. and 3189651 Canada Inc., both companies doing business as Reed Publishing owned by the FRANKS, Gordon, Ted, Sean and Rosalyn Cobrin Frank (DECEASED).

The newly amended Competition Act which carries significantly higher penalties for those who are convicted could finally bring justice to the FRANKS, Gordon, Ted, and Sean who have run the largest and longest B2B Telemarketing Scam in Canada.

Justice was already served to Rosalyn Cobrin Frank. (Hell)

COBRIN, Rosalyn. Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, died on Wednesday, May 21, 2008. Daughter of the late Ida and the late Peter Cobrin. Wife of the late Leonard Frank. Beloved companion of Jack Lackman. Loving and devoted mother and mother-in-law of Gordon, Arthur and Shira, Ted and Sheryl, Shawn and Elisa. Cherished “Mum” of Julia; Lindsay and Evan; Russell, Stephanie and Andrew; Jillian, Jacob, Corey and Bradley. Sister and sister-in-law of Rhoda and Eddy Weinberg. Roz will be sadly missed by her family and all of those whose lives she touched. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Jewish General Hospital for their kind care. Directors of Infotel Charged With Deceptive Telemarketing



OTTAWA, April 12, 2010 — The Competition Bureau announced today that criminal charges were laid against three Montreal brothers and six companies allegedly involved in deceptive telemarketing activities related to business directory scams.



The brothers, Gordon Frank (53), Theodore Frank (49) and Sean Frank (43), are alleged to have operated a telemarketing operation that targeted businesses and not-for-profit organizations in the United States, France and the United Kingdom.



The charges stem from a Bureau investigation into criminal deceptive telemarketing by a group of corporations led by the Frank brothers, collectively known as Infotel. The accused operated telemarketing offices in Toronto, St. John’s and Montreal. These activities are estimated to have generated approximately $60 million in revenue between 1999 and 2004.



The Competition Bureau alleges that the Frank brothers’ companies contacted businesses and not-for-profit organizations misrepresenting themselves as the victims’ regular supplier of business directories. The Bureau also alleges that Infotel telemarketers failed to disclose material information when contacting businesses, including the true purpose of the call.



The Frank brothers conducted the alleged deceptive telemarketing activities under the following names: Infotel Directories Inc., Infotel Publications, Infotel Directories-Toronto, Metropolitan Media, Metropolitan Press and Infotel Canada.



The investigation was conducted with the assistance of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal, the Toronto Strategic Partnership and the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.



Consumers who suspect that they have been victims of deceptive telemarketing are encouraged to contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501.
