I received a check on a Saturday fot $4998.00 suppose to be for a seceret shoppers thing. I had recently applied for a ligit position just as such, and so that is what I thought it was. I looked the check over, I spoke with the people on the phone, and I even called the bank.

But because it was a weekend I was not able to physically speak to anyone at this bank. Unfortunately I was not smarter about it, and I tried to deposite the check into my bank account.

When I went into the bank, they cancelled my bank card and informed me that the check was fraudulant. Please, if anyone gets something similar in the mail, please do not do anything with it. These people are frauds.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

There are more than this one!

AUTHOR: Modario - North Babylon (U.S.A.)

If you are new to Mystery Shopping then stay on your toes. I started in March and have since received two of these types of offers. One of them was from the same company "Shopping Facts Inc." and the other is "Infolinks Survey Company". They are based is Canada. I did not deposit them but instead I reported them.

There are two things I suggest you do. One, hold on to any and all the paperwork and file a complaint to the FTC. The more complaints they have the more likely they will track and hopefully stop these people. Two, always check out the company before hand. A reputable Mystery Shopping company will not send you a check, gift card or anything like that without informing you first. The process is simple with them. You check out the job, you bid on the job, you win the job and complete it. Nothing is done without constant, clear, and concise direction from the company.

If you are not already registered, you should check out mysteryshop.org, mysteryshopforum.com and MSFreedom.com. These are great sources for legitimate shopping companies and to hear about other shoppers encounters. Good Luck!
Also, remember. If sounds to good to be true it probably is!

Peace! Happy Shopping!
