Nov. 12 I received a statement CONGRATULATING my husband for his approval of a 37,000 grant for business/home improvement, enclosed was also a check for $3950.70 for him to use to pay the taxes and keep the remaining balance. BUT you had to call a number to verify the claim before cashing the check. Neither my husband or myself have or had applied for any kind of loan or grant. But it states in the letter that "also awarded to a short list of candidates randomly selected from Reader's Digest and Publisher' Clearing House databases, by ballot from Home Improvement Stores and other participating Department Retail Stores" It also states that this is the FINAL attempt to settle the aged claim. If this is really true, then where are the first and second notices to this claim? Anyway, I searched online for this so-called Southwest Trust Inc. and no such companyshowed up. There was a Southwest Trust Company, but not Inc. DO NOT BE FOOLED. As wonderful as it may seem, it is a SCAM. Please don't fall into the trap.
