Thought we would give this group a try. Referred by a commercial and advertised at Commerce Bank. Claimed to have 4th generation demolition company. Hired to do some light demolition, small commercial building. Took much longer than contracted for, and after they finished we did some checking and found out why. Contacted the City Of Wichita and learned they have only been in business about 3-4 years not the 3 or 4 generation company they claimed. Also learned that at one time they did work for the city under a contract and once it expired they were very pleased to get rid of them. I can agree why, they claimed it took over a week just to do one small house.
They virtually own nothing. Maybe a pickup or two, a wheelbarrow or maybe some hand tools, and that is it. They rely on rental equipment from anyone who will take the chance. They rely on hired trucks by the hour or pay by the load for dumpsters which you will end up waiting and waiting on because they have to fit in the subcontractors schedule. It became very time consuming. I was also given 3 names of contractors in Kansas who have used them and told to give them a call for another opinion, and out of the 3 only one had hired them, and we must have hit the jackpot when it came to this one because they had a nightmare much worse than anything we experienced. Claim they were hired to demolish a large school in butler county, I think it was the high school they mentioned. Apparently as I learned they bit off a lot more than they could chew, and fell so far behind they were pushed aside and the contractor or owner had to hire a larger more reputable demolition contractor from Wichita to come over and finish it.
Not enough experience or equipment to complete the job. I called over to the Butler County School Board and they did verify this, so I am sure you could too. I was asked not to mention the General Contractors name, but with some investigating I am sure you could find that out too. I have seen the other Demolition Contractors in town, and they have what I would call extreme operators. People who actually know how to make the equipment move. I am not sure of the man on the rental machine they use, but its quite a site to see, more like a prime time comedy. Another thing was that I did not much care for the push of religion by them. Mormons? Claiming to be ethical and trustworthy? I don't remember ever hearing anything good about the Mormon group of people so do not let them pull that hype either.
Anyway, They did complete my job, a few days late, and a couple feet low on backfill, but you get what you pay for I certainly have learned, and hopefully you will not get suckered in. Especially with all these fly by night's in here after the storms. Manta claims 7 employees, I counted 2. and 540k in revenue? Someone is trying to make themselves look good! BEWARE.
