Elavon has a fine print of account cancellation charges in murchant account aggrement.  But many other murchant service providers do not charge account cancellation fees. 

I did not pay attention to the account cancellation charges when I signed up the account.  Several months later, Elavon threatened to charge $20/month for not completing a servey to comply for PCI, and charge $55/year for complying PCI.  Those are extra charges not in the service agreement.  I didn't accept those charges, and checked around.  Many other service providers did not charge fees for complying PCI.  Then, I switched to Mercury, and now I don't pay any PCI fees.  Elavon withdrawed $295 from my bank account without notice.    

I disbuted the additional PCI charges with Elavon customer service.  The customer service was impolite and assertive.  That is the way Elavon charged you although it is not in contract aggrement.  But if you leave Elavon, Elavon will chage you cancellation fee.   

DO NOT USE ELAVON.  ELAVON service is a trap.
