I was at the walmart #3500 around 8:00 p.m. on 10/09/2009 with my daughter and was in the stationary department. My boyfriend needed a clipboard and there was a clipboard that was for $3.50 so i had put in my basket and continued with my shopping. I went to the front end checkout number 20 and proceeded to checkout. The clipboard was the last thing that was ranged up. The clipboard ranged up $10.97. I then told the cashier that the price on the shelf said $3.50 and that there was at least 20 of the same clipboard in that slot labeled $3.50. So then she waited for a customer service manager and the csm told her whatever it ranged up thats the price. She DIDNT EVEN GO BACK THERE AND CHECK. So basically she was calling me a liar. I dont think i would be this pissed if she would have went back there and checked. Customers Service Managers are LAZY AND just didnt want to go check to see if i was telling the truth. I would have asked for a member of management but it woudl have took all day long for them to come out. I used to work for that store so i know how lazy the management is. All walmart cares about is money and thats why the customers get treated like that.

Not quite...

AUTHOR: Amber - Lake City (U.S.A.)

I don't know about that particular Walmart, but at the one I work at, that wouldn't be the case. I personally respect all of my CSMs, and at times, they are EXTREMELY slow at helping me, which is aggravating on a very busy weekend afternoon when my line is 5 customers deep.. but I know that they are constantly running back and forth across the front end helping out. Every now and then, yeah, they stand around and joke or something - but it's a much deserved break for a job I don't think  Icould handle. As for it ringing up the wrong price - the fact is, prices are changed IN THE SYSTEM before ON THE SHELF. Example: I frequent any and all clearance racks at Walmart, and often, something may be marked say $5, but it rings up $3. this is because Walmart has already changed it in the system, and then associates in each department must scan items, and print up NEW price tags for them. And I'm not saying you did this - but its possible ANOTHER customer could move all items of a kind to an empty slot - yes, even clipboards - just to save the $7 or so. There are some low people in the world. The fact is, CSMs really are too busy to go running all across the store, when at any given time there are 3 cashiers who need change orders, 2 who have a question, 2 more angry customers... and only 3 csm's to help out. If it meant so much to you that you took the time to log onto this site, type up your little rant, and post it, then why not wait to complain to a manager?

You complain that the CSMs are lazy, but what does that make you?
