Yes that is correct, I do! Ok Sara. You say the owner does nothing. Well while he probably doesn't dance, he has to provide a place for you to do it. I think that you have to account for taxes and utilities and pay offs to the cops. You may not be doing anything but dancing, but I will guarantee that there are other people involved who are doing lots more.

You see Sara, what you are doing is not very respectable in the eyes of the public. While that is highly hypocritical, it is also the truth. Therefore, your employer is expected to be a rip-off sleaze-ball and even it he were not, it would not take long for a harder case sort of employee than you are to get things going that way. I would not be surprised if some girls are getting breaks on their booth payments in exchange for favors.

The fact that you would be so naive as to write to a site like this tells me that it might be wise for you to go on back to where you came from before something bad happens to you.

Earn money with a more respectable living instead of dancing!

As an exotic dancer, you need a place to work. What other choices do you have? Can you build a booth in your front yard so that you don't have to pay for your employer's?

The employer needs you too. Who would come without any dancers?

So, what is in dispute here is the split between owner and dancer.

The only way I know, short of starting a union, is to vote with your labor. Take your skills to another establishment that offers a better split. If there is none, get together with other dancers and build one.

If you continue to work at your present location, it shows that you may be unhappy with your pay, but still willing to work. That just described 99% of all the people in this country.

As long as you continue to show up and dance each week, there is absolutely nothing that anyone can do for you. You must force the employer to pay more. The only way to do that is if all dancers take their labor somewhere else.

A rule of labor. Every job pays only enough to keep people coming in each week. Companies who pay bonuses aren't trying to be nice. They want more work and more income from you, so they offer you more money to get you to do that extra work.

$10 for 10 minutes of work. A dollar per minute. 60 minutes in an hour, $60 per hour. Not bad. Minimum wage is what, $5.15 per hour? $80 for 80 minutes of work. Where do I sign up?

That's probably a small club, with a local middle-class clientele. A dancer here would probably make 5 times that much. Of course, all of it is sales and tips.

If this is the only skill you have, you better learn to save money big time. As you get older, you will not be in demand as a sex worker and you will need something to fall back on until you find a new career.

sara, this is what happens when you work for a man in this industry. I was fortunate to work for a woman who owned a exotic dancing bar for over 13 years and never once did she take any of our tips from dancing, nor were we charged any stage fees, or did we ever have to fork over money to the bouncers. She not only paid us a hourly wage of 5.00 a hour, but she deducted the proper government payroll taxes just like a normal job would do. In return she asked that when we were not on stage performing, we served beverages to the customers, and that is where she made her money. In short, every dime we earned on stage dancing went into our pockets. I had worked for this lady for 13 years and was very happy. She never tried to pimp us out as most men owners in this industry do. In fact , if she even suspected any hanky panky wrongdoing or any signs or comments regarding one of her girls doing anything other than dancing for money, the girl was immediately fired. She was very strict not to allow us to put ourselves or her in any type of harms way or do anything to discredit her establishment. I was very proud to have worked there as i have heard many a horror stories like yours from other dancers and the men that they worked for. Unfortunately my dancing career came to a end when she decided to retire and sold it to a man. It was about 3 days he owned the bar and i overheard him trying to make a deal for one of his buddies in return for time with one of my fellow dancer employees, right there and then i gathered my belongings and told him what i thought of him and where he could go. I left and never looked or went back. At that time i was already in my late 30's and figured it was time to give up exotic dancing and found a new source of income. Luckily i was born with just more than looks, and i had recently married and eventually opened up a retail store which has been sucessful. My advise to you is if you have other ways of producing income, start doing it, if you dont, while you are dancing go to school for a profession you can fall back on, either that or get yourself a husband who will support you, if you dont have something to fall back on you will regret it. I know lots of dancers who wished they would have listened to my advise and went to school while dancing for means of income when the time comes that you have to hang up your dancing shoes.

I have been to Intimates on numerous occasions, the dancers are treated really nice there by other employees, the dancers are not contracted as a full fledged employee they are an at will dancing employee, they have the choice to dance or not, most of the  ones that have worked there have chose to treat it as fun time and not tried to dance. Some do not even take the time to make themselves look good or shine confidence. I have watched many customers walk in, look at a dancer, walk right back out. All dancers are elligible for tips and do not have to split their tips. You usually have to ask the dancer to dance, if not they will sit there and do nothing, so really should they get paid for not doing much? Dancing is not a hard job, they split the cost because that money goes back to the company to pay utilities and booth use, BUT IT DOES NOT GO TOWARDS PAYING OFF THE COPS. Never has, never will. Some of you people watch way too many movies. In the end the majority of the dancers that have been there are happy and fine with what they make, they usually do not complain until they are canned. Oh and by the way, next time you complain about your place of business, use the business phone line and not your BOSS'S personal cell phone.

I agree. That place degrades their dancers and underpays them. However, if you are doing a good enough dance the guy should tip (it's only polite, especially if you splooge all over the glass) I have never heard of the dancers paying a stage fee though.... Must be a new thing?  That place will be shut down soon anyways. The girls are HIDIOUS and they aren't making their quota. So it's just a matter of time before the dancers be removed for sucking or the whole place gets busted for prostitution. The manager is such a bitch and so unprofessional when dealing with customers and staff. That place needs to find a reliable and reputable manager before the place gets shut down for good!

You are definately not an owner nor an employee of the company because I know pretty much all of the JVL employees of this area, and I do not know of a Jim. The girls change all the time so apparently you are a customer who does not frequent the store. Intimates has new dancers and they have not worked there probably prior to your visit. MASTURBATING is not allowed in the store, infact there are signs posted in the dancer booths and the "arcade" area stating such and it is a crime punishable by law as a lewd act.

Yes the girls can be tipped more, the fact that there are booths there is yes they are store owned and the girls "rent" them per hour for their dances, they choose to abide by such agreements before even dancing for the store, so they do know what they are getting themselves into so to speak. It is more than obvious that the dancer was complaining in order to attempt of getting more dancers. Stripping is not a form of prostituion, you are obviously a MORON. There are no forms of prostituion allowed in the store. The manager is very nice until you get on her bad side, obviously you have pushed some buttons at the store before but that does not give you the right to SLANDER someone online.

Bottom line, most girls who do stripping don't pay attention to the fine print, then they act naive to get attention, obviously a great stunt to try and get more men to go see them. People don't post your boss's personal information online it could lead to a lawsuit. Secondly don't think twice it means you have balls to push slander online about a place you rarely go to or have never been to.

I don't even know why you would use her real name, you must have either been an employee that lost their job for not working your job, or by running your mouth. Or have been someone 86'd for causing some other kind of drama, please keep this section to what it is about, they only want the facts here, this is not "Jerry Springer". Leave your drama offline and be a real man.

P.S. I'm obviously not Stacy, if you don't know who I am then you are just a pissed off ex-customer. Oh and by the way she said thanks for the compliment if being stern and doing the right thing(doing her job properly) means being rude, then obviously she's doing her job right and making sure of the safety of the dancers and keeping the store safe and clean from people trying to attempt lewd acts or theft.
