It's very bizarre how a company, with so many complaints against them, can stay in business. From the attorney generals of 15 states to Better Business Bureaus across the country, people are using words like "rip-off", "fraud", "high pressure tactics", "deceptive trade practices", and "class-action lawsuits" to describe the business practices of this company. I know because I am a victim myself. After repeated and fruitless calls to Great Expectations and my credit card company to get a refund, I decided to take matters in my own hands to warn people about thisincredible nationwide scam!

I no longer have a dispute with Great Expectations - Houston.

I have also learned that each office of Great Expectations is independently owned and operated and complaints about one office of Great Expectations do not necessarily represent occurrences in all Great Expectations. The Houston office of Great Expectations was responsive to my complaints and always courteous. While Great Expectations and I did have a disagreement, as in any disagreement, it can only be worked out when both parties decide to move forward. Great Expectations in Houston reached out to me to solve the dispute and we have reached an amicable agreement. This site does not allow for anything negatively written to be removed, so I am adding this to my original posting.

Based on the fact that you have taken your webpage and blog down in addition to now posting retractions like the one above it sounds to me like you got some money back. Good for you !! It is sad that people have to go to these extremes just to get this company to do the ethical and RIGHT thing. Great Expectations is run by a bunch of SCUMBAGS.

I was a former member of Great Expectations in the 80's. I did not have the time to date, so I was not successful. I recently re-joined, and I am so happy that I did. I have been a part of the Great Expectation family for the past 4 months now. I absolutely love it. Member Services is very friendly and is always there to answer my questions now matter how trivial they may sound. They member appreciations are so much fun, I think my favorite was the Astros game, but the rock climbing event came in at a close second. If you are single in Houston, Great Expectations is truly the place to be!‎
