I had always wanted to try Great Expectations because I thought they were the end all to dating and finding love. I thought maybe because you pay more, you get more! Boy, was I wrong!!!
I went there when I got a good job just out of college. I thought this is the next step. Looking back now, I should have stuck with what I was doing before.
They take you into this little room and throw ALL these powerful selling tactics at you about how you're such a great catch and you'll be snatched up right away. Oh and they also say how all of their male clients are high quality men looking for marriage. Honestly, all the guys I went out on dates with, and it was only a few of them, were very immature guys NOT looking for marriage.
I am so disappointed with this company. And there's NO refunds, so you just have to keep paying them until they get all their money and you are still alone!! What a total ripoff!!!
Don't go to this company for love! I am having far greater success online with much cheaper companies than I am having with Great Expectations. They're all talk!!!

If you used a CC, open a dispute with the Bank that gave you the CC.
Cancel the card and request a new one with a different number.
Send a notorized and certified letter requesting cancellation and refund to the Great Expecations office you dealt with.
Go online and file complaint forms with the local Better Business Bureau, State Attorney Generals office (They may have several departments you can complain to. Complain to them all). Federal Trade Commission. State Consumer rights department. Oprah. Local News investigation teams.
Follow up with everyone but Great Expectations. Once youv'e asked for membership cancelation on the phone and in writing, don't deal with them anymore. Leave it to the pro's.
Document dates, times, locations, names and contact information. Include all this information plus copies of the contract, invoice, certified letter, and certified letter receipt card when submitting complaint forms.
Remember, Great Expectations is an unethical business. They will lie to you to keep you from trying to fight them.
Federal Law says consumers have a 3 day cooling off period to cancel a sale. There are limitations, but many states own 3 day cooling off period trumps the federal one in that its not as restrictive to the consumer. EX: Texas 3 day cooling off rule states that if you were not provided with duplicate cancelation forms, you have longer than 3 days to formally write the business who conducted the sale to cancel.
Try and let each division you are working with (CC Bank, BBB, FTC, AG, etc.) know of the case numbers of each so they can work together if needed.
The more people complain to these consumer groups, the more likely they will put an end to Great Expectations.
