Summary: STAY AWAY from match.com. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY.
For about $20 per month, paid in advance all at once, I was supposed to get unlimited communications, a highlighted profile, email read notifications, and a 6 month guarantee among other things.
By the way, I am a very eligible bachelor, stable, confident, and good-looking. Match.com is obviously not the place for people who want to find a meaningful relationship.
winks from other beautiful members resulted in absolutely nothing after following-up with them. Sometimes the system would report that user's profile does not exist. I suspect some of the winks were randomly generated by the system, but that's just my suspicion.
Lots of emails from people who live 1000 miles away or more. Most of them were scammers.
I contacted roughly 10 or more members every month. Only got one date with one person. Only got a few one-time replies from very few people. That's about 10% single-reply, 2% in-person, and any other activity basically useless.
At the end of the 6 months, subscription just ended. No warning. No follow-up or guarantee. I paid in advance for the 6 month guarantee, followed all the rules, and nothing. Just a rude discontinued service.
Summary: STAY AWAY from match.com. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY.

- Perhaps you are or perhaps your not as eligible as you think. Just something to think about.
How is what results you got any different than going out to meet women? Do you strike up conversations with more than 10% of the women? How many of those conversations ended up in dates? Do you make dates with multiple women at the same time? How many times have you gone to a place to meet women and not met one. My guess would be more than a few times..or you wouldn't be on an Internet Dating site. You are probably saying that you are on the Internet because you don't have the time to go out. Well you have the time to spend on your computer and search profiles and e-mail people don't you.
As a suggestion if you have any women who are good friends ask them to review your profile and picture. It may be that what you THINK they want is actually turning them off.
The interesting thing about what you stated was that after the 6 months your account was canceled. That is NOT the match.com, or really any Internet site that has your CC information. Your Credit Card would have been charged automatically for another 6 month period...unless you cancelled the account previous to the 6 months. Which if that is what you did that may have voided any guarantee.

Before you day anything, I do not work for Match.com. I met my wife on there when I was in Iraq, we chatted whenever possible and then met after my tour and were married. We have been happily married now for 7 years and will spend the rest of our lives together. It worked for me.
