Yahoo Personals is one of the biggest cons I've seen a large internet company pull in a long time

Yahoo Personals fails to tell their paying members that they will block the members email address (even when you include it in the body of your message) when they attempt to contact a non-paying member.

As a result when you attempt to reach a non-paying member (of which the vast majority are) you will not get a response unless that person decides it's worth giving Yahoo $26.00 to reply to your message.

Think of all the paying members who never get a reply when they contact other "members" and think the reason is the other person is not interested when in reality they may be very interested but have no way to respond.

Yahoo Personals needs to be honest with everyone who's giving them money and tell them they can only contact other paying members or simply delete all the profiles of non-paying members instead of using them as shills to make the site look more popular than it is.

You probably were the victim of a fake profile

AUTHOR: Flippy - San Luis Obispo (U.S.A.)

Yahoo Personals and other web-sites like Match.com creates fake profiles to entice people into paying for memberships. When you attempt to contact the "person" they won't respond or even look at your profile. If you persist in trying to contact them they may write back a vaguely worded message about being "tricked" or "forced" into signing up for the service, then you never hear from them again. The fact is it is all a fraud, these web-sites hire some computer savy, oily skinned, post adolecents who do nothing all day except create phony profiles so that they can rip people off. If you bother to confront Yahoo directly about it they won't even bother to deny it, they just ignore the question.
