Corey Hooten, Edith Preston, and Shannon Holloway Tenants From Hell! Cross Roads , Texas

My husband and I, being first-time landlords, rented our 3 yr-old, immaculately kept house to Shannon Holloway, Corey Hooten, and Edith Preston, under the advisement of our realtor. Five months into renting they stopped paying their rent. We went to court, they were evicted, and we were awarded $3400.00 by the judge (which we will never get anyway).

Today my husband and I went to pick up the keys to the house. There is no electricity or water in the house (they had it shut off). There were human feces and shredded strips of cardboard left in ALL the toilets. An egg left in the refridgerator (to make the house smell), a bullet hole in my master bedroom door (which went through to the hallway wall), numerous holes in my walls, an enormous dent in my brand new refrigerator, demolished mini blinds, and the house smells like meth. Lets not forget the master bathroom cabinets which were kicked in, and the multiple burn marks around the outer edges of my jack and jill sinks.

Furthermore, they had abandoned their 3 yr-old Rottweiler dog in our backyard with no food or water. I drove an hour back home to get the dog fresh water and dog food. When I arrived back on the premises I changed all door locks (they never returned the keys) and called the police. A police report for vandalism has been filed, along with a report of theft of my solar lights, and numerous other household things. Furthermore, the county will be filing a felony suit against Corey Wayne Hooten of Denton, Texas for animal abandonment. Do NOT rent to these people.
