Filed for child support on my own on August 10th 2002.
Nothing got done paper work was lost. That took 2 years before I was told paper work was lost. Every time I called I was told it take 6 to 9 months then 12 to 16 months for a hearing.
I was getting nothing done on my own so I then hired an Attorney on August 10th 2004.
After spending $4,000.00
I didn't get a order till October 20th 2005.
Today is February 27th 2006 and I'm still with out child support... No I'm not a Mother I'm a Father wanting support for my children.
I call FOC every day just to hear we are waiting.
My X-Wife is a Detroit Police officer that is behind in child support over $18,000.00.
You would think by her being a police officer the city would step up and do the right thing but then again no one is special in Wayne County Not even my childen.
Male or Female should not have to keep complaining about the court system not doing their job. PLEASE HELP THE CHILDREN

Your situation is not uncommon sorry to say. The system is in a deplorable state.

This site is a valuable asset as it aids immeasureably in creating the awareness this issue requires.
File a show cause for your ex since there is an order. It will require her to appear. The system is failing you just like countless others.

Petition the court for a "SHOW CAUSE" hearing. If they dink you around, keep calling and complaining until you get what you want. Also, petition the court to do an "OFFSET" on her taxes. That way, once it is in place, The IRS will automatically take it if there is an arrearage amount.
What REALLY makes me sick about this case, is that as a poilice officer, you know as well as I do that she HAS to have seen numerous cases of children living in poverty because support isn't being paid. It is bad enough when a civilian does it but when a poice officer does it that makes me even more sick.
AGAIN, as in several other rebuttals that I have written, contact the Governor's OFFICE or the STATE REPRESENTATIVE and tell them not only are you not receivng court-ordered support but that she is a police officer and tell them where and that you would like them to force the FOC to do a Income Withholding Order.
