Dental Group is known to use Bait and Switch tactics.  After initial exam, Dentist comes in to look at your teeth and then leaves.  Office Administrators come in and immediately sell up (the word they love here is LAVA).  Never covered under insurance and EXTREMELY expensive.  After going $12,000 in dept for dental work for a procedure that would have only cost me $300 through my insurance, the 100% guarenteed LAVA Bridge, broke.  More cost.

When I was offered more work under LAVA, I refused and immediately said I only want what my insurance covers.  I was told it would not be made properly and I would hate it.  I should get Dental Implants.  Again cosmetic and not covered by insurance.  I said I wanted what my insurance covered.  I was told my insurance would not cover a porceline crown only metal.  What?  Front Teeth, not covered with porceline.  I told them "NO", I did not believe them and wanted to call my insurance company.  Thank God.  No sooner did I arrive back to my office Hasley Dental was on the phone saying they made a mistake and it was covered.

Long run here.  Broken crowns, Broken Bridges and now a lower partial that broke after only 6 months because it did not fit properly in the first place.

They use shoddy, cheap labs to make dental work.  They use crappy material to fill teeth so that it either falls out after a few months or breaks soon after leaving office.  Crowns that fall out and Plates that hurt, rub against the gums and never fit right.

I finally wised up and switched Dentist.  DO NOT go to Hasley Dental.  You are subsidizing their pretty office and modern equipement with your hard earned dollars. You will be totally unhappy with the work you receive.  Never trust a dentist that wants you to sign in advance with their little computer generated signature software.  YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING FOR!

More like an Individual or Knows Nothing About Dentistry

AUTHOR: Jake - Pittsfield (U.S.A.)

First of all, no plan would do a large treatment plan like th eone you claim for only $300 out of pocket. I love people who think that their dental insurance coveres "everything". Secondly, LAVA is a trade name of a type of crown and it is extremely strong. It has nothing to do with the dental office. That actually means that they use good materials. They could use a LAVA knock off but clearly know their tech. I am not a dentist but work for a dental office in MA and get tired of patients speaking from ignorance and accusing doctors of bait and switch. They put a treatment plan together, you signed it. If you wanted to know what and if things were covered, call your insurance. Dental offices are not responsible for explaining your benefits to you. It is HR's or your job to know what your plan consists of. Finally, if you needed $12k worth of work, it is unlikely that your dental care was that great BEFORE you got there. Anyone who goes into a dental office and demands that they only "do what my insurance covers" is looking for discount dentistry and is doomed to be replacing that work every few years, guaranteed.
