Wife bought me a $50 Shirt in May, It was too big, but the tag on it said No hassle return, so I didn't think it would be a problem returning it. So 6 months later I tried to exchange it for a different size, and they said because it had been 6 months, they could only give me $12.50 back, and they wouldn't allow me to exchange it for a different size, even though they still carried that line. No hassle to them, means don't hassle them. Won't shop there again !

Six months is excessive.

AUTHOR: Mike - Holiday (U.S.A.)

Macy's is not --RENT A SHIRT. Six months is extreme. No hassle means within reason. The return time period is about a month. A month is more that enough time to decide if you want something. If a $50.00 shirt has been dropped in inventory to $12.50 & your procrastination, in taking your sweet time, is no reason for Macy's to give you $50.00 for a $12.50 shirt. I have been in retailing most of my life & people that abuse the return policy's of stores are eventually discouraged from such behavior that is abusive to the extreme like this guy. Let him go do the same thing in any other store & see what THEY do. Most people return items within a week's time period, six months is 26 weeks. A person with common sense would realize that after 6 months, any scenario where the store gives him ANYTHING is over the top.

Six Months is Too Much

AUTHOR: Notoriousscrat - Marion (U.S.A.)

While, I know that in my store we would have just exchanged it and that would have been that, I agree six months is a long time. Why did it take you that long? Sounds to me like you didn't bother with your receipt or Macy's card either because otherwise the system would have still been able to pull up your purchase at the original amount paid.

While my store would have done an exchange, since the return policy is within 120 days (about three months and plenty of time), the fact of the matter is that this store did actually do more for yo than they had promised with their returns policy. Next time keep the receipt or be more on the ball.
