After several calls to the #0182 wal-mart super center in the Greenville Mississippi to management personnel about receiving my last pay check in Sept of 2001. I still have not received my paycheck or information why in this matter. It is not to much to ask for but received what I earned, the only thing I was told it has been mail but when I tell them that I have not received it they it is not there and that it has been mailed. Now I know the isn't that slow. Now they will not answer my phone calls. Craig Charlton, North Carolina

by law an employer has 2 weeks or the next payday witch ever comes first.

AUTHOR: Chef - Pineville (U.S.A.)

by law an employer has 2 weeks or the next payday witch ever comes first. my advise is to contact walmart payroll dept and have a trace put on the check if it was mailed it might have been stolen if it was stolen and csahed you will need to have a hand wrighting analsis done to compaire to the signature on the check thus proving your inosence
im not sure as to the laws governing if the employer would have to replace the funds that were stolen or if it would have to be a act of kindness on there part to replace the funds.
if the later it would go a long way towards helping to rebuild the reputaion theye have destroyed that sam spent his whole life building.
if theye refuse to trace the check and give you a hard time i would sugest calling the labour dept and filing a report and a letter to the better buisness burrow would be advisable to go along with it. if walmart reads this stuff i would advise a little compensation money along with his pay would help the wound heal. walmart will never be worth its salt untill it gets back to the standards that sam had. mr walton would have never taken walmart out of the usa he would come up out of his grave today and kick all his kids butts if he only mnew what you have done shame on you he clothed you he fed you and kept a roof over your heads and this is how you show him your love i would be ashamed to have children like you.
you need a good ole behind the wood shed butt whoopin.

CALL YOUR STATE LABOR COMMISSION

AUTHOR: Sherri - Richmond (U.S.A.)

In most states, a final paycheck must be given upon termination if you were fired or if you quit WITH notice. Even if you quit without notice, they still have only a matter of days to get your check to you (72 hours in many states). Call your State Labor Commissioner's office on Monday to file a claim. My only concern is possibly the length of time you waited. I don't know the laws of your state, but in many, you have to file the claim within one year.

In some states, unpaid wages also accrue penalties and interest.
