This is a rebuttal from Nina Ebert, Certified Professional Resume Writer / Career Coach / Military Reward Partner / President of A Word's Worth Resume Writing and Career Coaching Service, serving clients since 1989. I am responding to false accusations issued by Mykl of Lodi, NJ on June 17, 2011.
I have served thousands of clients throughout my 22 years in the business and have never had a single complaint filed against me. My rating with the Better Business Bureau is A+, even though I don't pay a membership fee. In fact, the Better Business Bureau conducted an intensive investigation of Mykl’s complaint and resolved the matter in my favor, stating that I had done everything in my power to satisfy the resume and cover letter needs of the client.
I spent about over 2 hours interviewing Mykl on Saturday April 2, 2011 to identify the challenges he had faced in the workplace, the actions he took to meet those challenges, and the results of those actions.
Following the interview, Mykl paid me in full and signed a contract stipulating that drafts of his resume and cove letter would be emailed to him on Tuesday, April 19, 2011.
If the client was not happy with the time I spent interviewing him or with the effort I put forth in interviewing him, he could have easily left the office without paying me and without signing a contract that I would write his resume and cover letter.
On Thursday, Aril 14, the client called me and began harassing me, insisting on seeing rough drafts of the resume and cover letter earlier than the contracted date. I calmly explained to Mykl that he would be able to make changes and / or corrections to the documents when I emailed them to him on the due date of April 19.
To end his irrate phone calls and emails, I finally acquiesced and emailed him rough drafts on Friday, April 15, 4 days earlier than contracted to do so, explaining that the rough drafts would require me to implement editing before they were finalized.
Since starting my business in 1989, I have worked with my clients until they are completely satisfied with the end products. As a small business owner, I take full responsibility for all aspects of my business. I consider customer relationship management to be paramount among my duties.
I produced a fine resume and cover letter for Mykl, copies of which I would be happy to share as evidence of my efforts. However, I was committed to making changes / corrections until Mykl was completely satisfied, which I expressed to Mykl.
Unfortunately, Mykl decided instead to try to retrieve the money he had paid me to write his documents. When these efforts failed, he decided to write that A Word’s Worth Resume Writing and Career Coaching Service is a rip off.
The very week before Mykl contacted me, a representative of the Better Business Bureau solicited me to see if I would partake in BBB membership, specifically because I had a spotless record of professionalism and customer service since starting the business in 1989. I opted not to join the BBB
because it is a fee-based agency, as I don't feel I have to buy my reputation. I am, and always have been, 110% committed to my clients.
