This company states that they have the newest technology and they have great support. Both untrue, they will get you to sign a lease PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! They also ask you to setup your account with a credit card DONT DO IT! They recently charged my card for over $100 dollars above what they were supposed too, and with no authorization. They make up fees and this company is very hard to work with. If your in the Des Moines area my suggestion would be the company in Grimes, IA. I have worked with them and they are much easier and a much better company. I have had nothing but problems with CST. A true nightmare, and hopefully this report will help someone not make the same mistake I did!

We strive to deliver outstanding service to all of our customers on a consistent basis. We do not want dissatisfied customers although we understand that no company can or will keep every customer happy at all times. We would like to note that we will not apply charges to any credit or debit card without authorization from the cardholder. Also, all of our fees are disclosed at the time of account setup and in the lease that all customers sign. Since we cannot identify the author of this report, we cannot respond with specifics. We would ask that he contact the CEO of our company directly to discuss his specific situation. We want to help and we want our customers to feel very positive about their experience with our company. We work very hard to ensure that happens and welcome the feedback from the author. Thank you.

Notice that the "gentleman" from CST that responded did so with that arrogant business swagger CST associates are famous for? Everyone at that company treats you like an infant and plays the passive aggressive role whenever you attempt to communicate an issue to them (especially issues like the device giving false positives which it does regularly). Their objective: plausible deniability. They attempt to assume no responsibility when an issue arises (which they often do) and pass the blame off to the customer. You can even see that in their rebuttal with his "no company is perfect" attitude. No one asked you to be perfect, just stop causing problems in the lives of so many people and no one will take issue with you.
What CST should realize is that people required to have one of these devices installed understand they made a mistake in choosing to drive while over the legal limit (although George Bush, Dick Cheney, and a mountain of congress men and women on the hill typically don't, they're never made to - they just pass laws for devices like this and CST probably pays them to) yet CST treats customers as if they're major criminals and refers to its customers as "convicts". That type of attitude towards the people that make your company work (without DUIs you wouldn't have a product to make billions off of and brag to your friends about at cocktail parties - sad but true) is morally reprehensible.
What I propose in order to make a difference in this case is that in the immediate if you have to have one of these type of units installed in your vehicle by law, CHOOSE A DIFFERENT COMPANY!!! I am going to be suing them this year for major product safety concerns and work towards having them banned due to the hazards of having one installed. The relay they installed fell on my feet while driving and my feet got tangled in the wiring at 75 miles per hour. My vehicle then died and I incurred roughly $450 in costs plus major downtime from work while my vehicle sat dead. The cable that is attached to the unit constantly dangles on your legs and feet and gets tangled on other components (e-brake lever, stick shift, molding, etc.) which is very dangerous when you're in traffic trying to untangle this thing and drive to perform your "rolling retest". It's illegal to use a cell phone and drive but legal to sort out wiring and have to reach for this thing every 13 minutes to blow into at set time intervals while you're trying to concentrate on the road and other cars?!!!
Oh yeah, and CST has decided it would be an added bonus to their customers to violate your privacy as well - they're putting tracking devices and video cameras in their new model!!! How is this legal? Two words: Patriot Act. Oh, and at least 2 of the guys that helped make the Patriot Act
a reality were repeat DUI offenders that never had to have one of these devices installed - George W. Bush (alcohol and cocaine addict) and Dick Cheney!! I'll bet they own stock in CST as well.

my name is justin and i was ordered to get an intoxaloc in my car. I got it put in less then two months ago and i have had nothing but problems. My first one started giving me false readings and then locked me out. It would not even allow to blow zeros to get it to the shop. I tryed calling the police in waupaca Wisconsin were mine was installed to come give me a breathalizer to prove it was the machine and not me. They refused to come out. they litterally said that it didnt prove nothing against me so its not there problem.
I then had my girlfriends cousin pull me to the shop. where the mechanic (Bill of Bills auto) blew in it.(nothing against bill or his garage. they have been nothing but courtious and helpfull.) He also blew a false reading. I called CST to dispute this lockout. They were rude and disrespectfull. They refused to accept responsibility for the machine, insisting that there was something on my breath. mind you the mechanic blew in it the next day. I told them i was going to contact the better buisness bureau and they hung up on me. It took several times of getting hung up on before finally talking to someone that wasnt rude. they still billed me for this failing system. and late fees for not sending the broken system back within two days.
My next system started failing within two weeks, giving me false readings again. same hastle.
Third system, I stoped at the gas station (sunset curve bp weyauwega WI), shut off my car and went inside. when i was at the register I heard a horn going off countinulously. I went into the parking lot and it was my car. I got in and the restart countdown was locked at 59 seconds, the horn still going off. The car was able to start without blowing. I had to call into work and drive the car to the mechanic with the horn blowing and my flashers flashing the whole way to waupaca.(15 miles or so) My fuse for my horn blew one mile before the mechanics shop so the horn finaly quit. the mechanic couldnt figure it out, nor could the tech at CST. Also got charged for this one.
This thing has made me miss several days of work, left me, my girlfiend, and her four year old son stranded for hours on end in a hot car, burdened friends and family members because they had to come get me or take me to work, damaged my reputation at work by making me late or absent, distracted other drivers by making my horn go off nonstop on the highway(which well driving to the mechanics, several cars hit the brakes abruptly, and or pulled off the road.), and embarassed me in public. All of this while costing me a ton of money and being treated like crap by the people who have the odassity to call me a customer.
I also agree that this thing is a hazzered because of the cord getting tangled, and it is loud and distracting every thirteen or so minutes.
I to would like to get envolved in a law suite against these guys, which could have all been avoided had the customer service been as much as a little courtious or owned up to a little responsibillity.
anybody who can help me with this please contact me on facebook or email me @jstnhenry@yahoo.com

I also had many problems with these devices you can keep complaining about it or stand up for yourself I wrote my state Senator,Governor,RMV,the companys CEO,and others. I also opened a small claims lawsuit and got a judgement in my favor cause these cowards know that these devices have proven not work and did not show up for court so far I gotten $1271.00 in small cliams, $100.00 for towing fees, and $95.00 back so do not feel like there that there nothing you can do cause I proven otherwise so have courage to stand up for yourselfs

They called my house concerning my daughter and had me so upset at the end of the call I felt like I was going to have a nervous breakdown. The device was faulty as was the 2nd one and was everything so many others have said and the woman who called talked to me like I was dirt. I do NOT drink and drive and my daughter's car in which the device was installed blew the motor 3 weeks after she bought it so the device was removed in March and when they called, I tried to get info to understand the details and I was basically told it wasn't their problem. My daughter made a mistake but until she had another car 3 weeks later (a few days ago), she had no car to have a device installed so I was trying to understand how that was "termination of contract" and I was simply asking questions trying to understand because until she had another car to have another device installed, I wanted clarification on the termination of contract thing. My daughter is also bi polar and needs things explained to her in detail and she was treated like dirt as well but that aside, I did not do anything to deserve to be told it wasn't their problem. I am 58 years old and was spoken to as if I was 15. This device was installed at Innovative Audio in Denham Springs, LA and when I asked about other companies, the young man I spoke with said sadly, the other companies that deal with this are worse than CST. I can be reached at ebbette@yahoo.com and my name is Donna Plank. I was also supposedly being transferred to the person I spoke to the first time to make payment arrangements and was connected to a fax machine and my left ear is still painful from the horrible screeching noise. I never did speak with anyone because it finally hung up. Pressing 3 for Customer Service should truly say Press 3 if you want to be treated like dirt and be driven to tears.
