After deciding with my husband and kids that we would buy a 2nd family dog, i searched the internet. We were specifically looking for a British Bulldog puppy, and had no trouble finding many. I chose to email 5 of the adverts, but only one from my district , WestYorkshire as advertised, i was really interested in as i wanted to go and see the puppies. As if by coincidenceall theadverts said they had one bitch and one dog for sale.

I recieved an email back within half an hour from the local advert which i was delighted about. It was from a lady called Camila Campbell, not that she ever signed her emails with a name. She sent me a very lenghthy email asking me if i was capable of looking after one of her puppies and take good care of it. She said that i couldnt go and see the puppies as she had relocated to Girven Scotland to live wirh family. So added multiple images of the 2 puppies she had for sale.

She finished her email with telling me to decide which one i wanted and to get back to her soon.

So feeling like i had minimal details of the whole thing, i asked how much they were, if she has the mohter, her contact details adn how the puppy would be delivered. She just emailed me back saying they were £250 including delivery and i must send her my name address and closest airport now that i had made a commitment! She also said that she was taking 'Jeri' the puppy i was buying to the delivery company "right now".

I replied saying not to do that as i hadnt spoken to my husband to comfirm and that i felt very pressured. She only emailed me to say that she needed my details, which istill hadn't provided as i was feeling wary.

Totally based on stupidity and trust i agreed and sent her my address. I asked in this email for the delivery company address.I got a reply just saying they would bein touch and i should go my way and she can go hers i would recieve the puppy very early in the morning (this was 4pm)!!!

So after a bad night sleep i had no call, by 10am i checked my email to recievfe an email from Animal Pet Moving Services, Girven Scotland. They said that Jeri had her health checks and was being put on a flight. I was instructed to Pay £125 immediately to Wallmart payments , based in Cameroon! I immediately replied to say i was cancelling the order on ground of false information. They replied saying i should do as i am told and pay the money.

I now am sure none of these pets exist. To make matters worse, two of the other email re the bulldog puppies i enquired about were aloso from thgese people.

Exactly the same experience

My family were also looking for a 2nd family dog and came across an advert for yorkie puppies free for adoption from an owner in Scotland. After enquiring about the advert we also received a length e mail asking how we will care for the 'baby'. They said they were based in Girven, Scotland and had a bitch and a dog and to get in touch when we have decided which we wanted. We replied that we were looking for a bitch.
I got a reply asking for name, address, phone number and closest airport. I was told that we had to pay £150 for the delivery and she was on her way to the delivery agency with the puppy who would then contact us about payment. We then received e mails from the delivery agency requesting payment in Cameroon which made us a little suspicious. When we didn't reply quickly enough we received a number of phone calls from a man with poor English demanding payment for delivery of this 'baby'. We didn't recognise the payment methods and they then told us to pay through the post office after some quite aggressive demands to use the payment methods stated in the e mails.

After we still hadn't paid I received an e mail from the 'owner' saying the company was legit. Before making any payment we decided to research the company and came across a number of reports such as this. This confirmed our suspicions and luckily we have not made any payments and will not be doing so.

I think it is important before making any payments for online adverts it is important to research who you are paying before making any payments so we would like to thank you for your report, and similar ones we have found that helped us before we were scammed.
