Broadcreek Kennels has Belgian Malinois and German Shepherds for $1000.  I entered into a contract for a show dog.  I took home a "show quality" dog without AKC paperwork because they had not filed it.  I later requested a bill of sale or the paperwork so that I could register the dog.  I was told I would get it, but never received it.  They are forcing me to file a complaint with the AKC.
Don't get a dog there, even though they have champions.  The hassle is stressful and you never know when it will end.  They seem to think they are above the law, and just ignore you.  You never get to see all the puppies, or where the dogs are kept.  It was a heartbreaking situation.

I called, but my spouse thinks its time to let it go.  We have a great dog, but I know longer worry about working this whole thing out.  I don't intend to breed, so I guess my guy doesn't need the papers.  If you do get a dog, any dog, don't walk off the property without the info.  This kind of thing happens a lot.  But I am moving on.

I think the moral is
"don't accept the dog without paperwork".  It seems that shipping a dog is always a bad idea, because the paperwork gets lost and you can't check up on it.  I have a great dog, but I didn't feel less upset until I let go of the whole matter.  The wife and kids think I stress too much, but be advised that its hard to get things fixed when you are a thousand miles away from the breeder.

I should have read this report first

I first must set up this story with some background.  Last week my family lost our 13 y/o lab and it was devastating to my kids.  We originally thought our next puppy was going to be a Belgian, so after some Google searches I found Broadcreek Kennel, which I choose because it appeared to have some quality dogs and was within about a 4 hour drive.  I contacted the kennel multiple times and got short answers back each time...almost like I was bothering them.

On Friday 20 Jan 2011, I contacted the owner again asking if it was ok to come up and view his pups either Saturday or Sunday.  The owner didn't contact me again until Sunday morning.  Meanwhile, over the weekend (Jan 21-22, 2011) my kids and wife decided the best dog for our family would be another lab and so we spent the weekend searching for the perfect pup and breeder, finally settling on one late Saturday night.

Sunday morning the owner of Broadcreek emailed me to let me know that it was ok to come up that day.  I simply replied to his email "Disregard, we found a puppy elsewhere."  Apparently he did not like that very well and decided to reply with the following:

You are not real smart you could have gotten a puppy from the #1 breeder in the country and went and bought a puppy from someone that has done nothing with their dogs good luck you will need it
------

Bottom line - I don't know what type of dogs that kennel produces or how they treat their animals.  What I do know is their customer service sucks.  For all potential buyers please remember that old saying "where there is smoke, there is fire."

Had a great purchase experience and now a great dog.

We purchased a Belgian Mal pup from Broadcreek Kennels four years ago and had none of the issues outlined above. The papers were mailed within two weeks. The puppy was shipped with food, water, bowls and a detailed note on handling. The puppy developed into a beautiful animal with a great temperament. I was more than pleased. Great addition to our family.
