I met Jeannine DePalma at a show 3 years ago. We talked and after getting to know more about her I purchased 2 pups from her. One of them had to be put down because he turned on his family. He bit my daughter who he had known since the day we brought him home. I got a replacement puppy from Jeannine DePalma of Central Asian Shepherds and that dog ended up having severe Hip Dysplasia. The female that I got from her has urinary problems from what the vet called filthy conditions in the kennel she was bred at. I have tried to be as nice as possible with this woman but all I get from her is lies. She refuses to honor her guarantee and just give me my money back. Because the female I have from her was bred on a contract with another breeder she is wanting her to take all of the blame and I don't even know the other breeder so how is that a help to me. I gave well over 4000.00 to Jeannine DePalma for 2 pups that both ended up with health and mental issues. Then the replacement puppy had a serious urinary problem that still to this day costs me over 150.00 a month to treat. And to make matters worst I placed best in show at an event Jeannine DePalma was hosting and instead of giving me the free bags of dog food I won she loaded them up in her vehicle and told me they were not the correct sizes and formula and would give me what I earned the next week. Needless to say I never recieved them. Soon after other show participants complained that they did not receive their tropies or dog food from the sponsor either and Jeannine DePalma made a statement on her website saying she was no longer using them as a sponsor. More like they weren't wanting to sponsor her anymore if she was going to keep all of the winners prizes. Do not buy from this breeder of Central Asian Shepherds Jeannine DePalma. She will take your money and give you sick and metally challenged dogs.

Lies

AUTHOR: Susan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, September 05, 2015

This story is full of lies and is made by the same people that constantly try to discredit jeanine. I have been dealing with Jeanine for over 12 years and have 2 of her dogs from different breedings. I find her to be a very compassionate breeder who is very committed to her breed and it's standards. For 12 years she has never lost touch with me and constantly checks In on my two dog babies. My 12 year old just passed and she couldn't be more compassionate with me. I've never heard one complaints about her, her breeding practice or her facilities. In a heartbeat I would get another dog from her without thinking twice. She stands behind every dog she breeds and takes them back if there is an issue. She's done many rescues and has searched diligently for those who refuse to keep in touch with her, just so she knows that they are treating her dogs right. She will not sell a dog to anyone if she feels they may resell the animal or mistreat it in any way. This person that has made these nasty false statements about her Hides and doesn't give their real name and info. I am a real person, real owner of a foxfire dog and welcome anyone to come out and speak to me. Jeanine has dedicated her entire life to this breed only to have jealous people try to take her down. She could've had many things in life but this is what she chose to do. The haters should just leave her alone. You've done enough damage.

Suspended from UKC

AUTHOR: Megan K - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, August 30, 2015

This sorry a** breeder is finally suspended from UKC ukcdogs.com/Web.nsf/WebPages/Registration/SuspensionNotice and no wonder. The place is a mess, the lady is rude and illiteràte, the dogs are dirty and poorly maintained. Hope state closes her no good business for good.

Sounds like jealousy attempting to discredit

AUTHOR: Piper - (Canada)

POSTED: Monday, May 21, 2012

So often in the dog world and in other areas of life one person's success leads to profound jealousy on the part of those who have not been as dedicated and devoted to a breed or to achieving a goal, in the dog fancy to both. When this happens, the attacks upon the successful person are at once savage and limitless.

They are quoted  out of context; their actions deliberately misinterpreted even invented; those who were friends yesterday turn on them savagely the next sharing cruel, often invented gossip, creating situations such as the one reported here which has been disproved by timeline and the disposal of litters - the actual placement of each pup of the only litters from which the complainant could possibly have bought the two puppies, litters from which no pair of pups was placed. Obviously the writer of the complaint did not realize breeders keep careful records of litters bred and born it is the money-oriented puppy mill operator breeding carelessly and often who can't keep track of puppies and litters.

I have heard Jeanine talking about her approach to breeding and rearing puppies and seen the effect it has on her puppies and dogs - a style I might add very close to my own. I have also seen other breeders forced out of the sport by jealousy and similar actions of their 'peers' in their breed. It is not the dogs in need of socialization: it is the breeders.

For Loving Mother

AUTHOR: special K - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 03, 2012

Have you gone to Jeannine's to see her dogs?  How many dogs does she produce?  I have known her for over 4 years now and have seen nothing but excellent work from her and a solid love for all her dogs-Rescuing 3 from bad owners this year-Placing two for an owner that was in ill health, Dedicating over 10 days to help find a dog from one of her litters that got lost, assisting in rescueing other dogs from other breeders of Livestock guard dogs when I know for a fact the 1 breeder had been contacted by the owner who turned them into the shelter and said he did not want them back!! Do you know how-I worked for over month to try and get these same 2 dogs out of the shelter and on to two homes that I personally contacted-with Jeannines guidance, I actually had three homes for consideration.  The Shelter told me the breeder did not want the dogs!!!!  Jeannine did not have to help place another breeders dogs but she did!!

You say you watched the video-good-Did you contact Jeannine for her side of the Story?

I am not sure where you got your information but most of what I read is in direct contrast to what I know from personal experience.   Jeannine is one of the few Breeders who says they test their dogs and can verify it both independently and personally.  She says she is going to do something and does it.

She is a rare person in this world of Livestock Guard Dogs-she shows her dogs, she tests her dogs, she cares for her dogs-they are not just a paycheck for her like many other breeders.

Defender of the Breed

AUTHOR: Paula - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 03, 2012

I have two dogs purchased from Jeannine De Palma.   I have not had any difficulty with Jeannine as a breeder, and in keeping her word in regarding all issues on these two dogs.  Jeannine is a very opinionated person about her dogs and this breed, and can be difficult, at times, to deal with.  However, I consider, from my experiences with her and with other individuals who have bought dogs from her, to be a fair individual who is probably one of the few American experts in this country on this breed, their habits, and the ways that have worked for her to grow, show and develop the individuality and the range of  tempermanents found in this rare breed.  I would never hesitate to recommend her and her dogs to someone who has done their homework on the needs of this rare breed.

Concerning the news report as a way to retaliate

AUTHOR: loving mother - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, November 05, 2010

You say the info was to retaliate but truth be told it isn't a retaliation at all,,................IT IS PURE FACT! and i thank the person who informed us of this news story ( i watched the video and she was even crying and had broken her nails just to make everyone believe her lies  ,,,wow... how sad that she went to such an extreme and lied so well)

I found this "rip off report site" only because i was interested in buying a dog and goggled breeders of Asian Shepherds ,,,.. So regardless of all her customers touching stories the truth is bold faced !!!  she IS a dishonest person who wasted tax payers money AND POLICE TIME,  filing false reports just to promote her dogs, if she was a good reputable breeder she would not have to go to such extreme. as her dogs  and her integrity would speak for themselves.. ,

Also the news report was just icing on the cake,,as i was concerned in the very beginning anyway,  when i seen how many dogs she was producing and realized in the end that this is not the breeder i want to deal with...... Dishonesty and puppy milling is not only morally wrong but it is not for me,,,thank you all for helping me come to my decision, Thanks any way Jeannine but i dont think i will be buying a dog from you anytime soon, NO ONE should own that many dogs as it is not fair to the dogs themselves,,,

First Class Breeder

AUTHOR: special K - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, November 04, 2010

I looked long and hard over the past several years for a new dog the was both stable and reliable.  I searched many different breeds and breeders/Fila included.  During my discussions with other breeders did I ever get the kind of questions she asked.  She seemed as though she was placing her own child in my care-I have never had a breeder take such concern for their pups/dogs-Most have been if you have the money you get the dog.

Well my wife and I choose jeaninne Depalma and have been exceptionally pleased with our puppy-She turns a year old today.  She is known as Foxfire Sasha/aka Little Runt.

She is a healthy, calm, attentive, pack member that Jeaninne spoke of.  Jeaninne has contacted us several times, made herself available for our Vet, all things most other breeders will not do.  Let me clarify-Non reputable breeders.

Who ever is complaining-I am sure that if you had dogs with such Problems from Jeaninne she would have taken them back in a heart beat had them treated and rehomed or kept them around her farm as part of her pack after they had been treated and recovered.

Keep up the great work Jeaninne

Woman Arrested for Claiming Dog Helped Stop Crime

Woman Arrested for Claiming Dog Helped Stop Crime
July 20, 2010

WILSON, NY (WKBW) - New York State Police have arrested a Wilson woman for falsely reporting an incident, a Class A Misdemeanor, for claiming her dog helped to stop a robbery on the NYS Thruway.

Jeannine DePalma claimed that her dog helped to stop a robbery while on Interstate 90 in the town of Brant back on July 12.

Eyewitness News reported on the story and spoke with DePalma, who claimed someone attempted to steal her car while she took her dog to go to the bathroom along the side of the Thruway.

DePalma was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to reappear in court on July 30.

May the farce be with you

AUTHOR: Susan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 12, 2008

This 'rip-off' report about Jeannine De Palma is utter nonsense. I have known Jeannine for eight years. I have a dog from her farm that is 5 years old. My dog is everything I expected her to be and more. Jeannine has been supportive, honest and trustworthy in all my dealings with her. She has answered the phone at any hour to advise me regarding my dog as I was a first time puppy buyer. She honestly loves her dogs and treats them very well.

I recently purchased a second puppy from her. My new puppy has her own personality but is every bit the measure of a stable, healthy livestock guadian dog as is her older sibling. My adult dog is loving and gentle toward the pup. The puppy is a lover who likes to have her chest and tummy scratched. We went to the vet yesterday for puppy shots and the vet was impressed her the vitality and temperment.

I am training her to be a service dog, just as her older sibling is. I took her through Costco yesterday and she was the center of attention in what was a very busy shopping environment. She sat in the cart and sniffed and watched all the commotion without one smidgen of fear or aggressiveness.

Jeannine has worked hard to establish a fine line of dogs in what can often be a very seedy animal sales environment. Her name is good and she deserves it to be. She is protective of her progeny and screens people very carefully before selling a puppy to them. Jeannine entrusts her dogs to only to the most qualified of homes.

This slanderous, ANONYMOUS report is most likely the sour grapes of someone who did not make the cut. A bitter and pitiful attempt to strike out at a person who is putting the well-being of her dogs first. Rejection does sting, but is no excuse for unfounded claims. Furthermore, anyone who feels so strongly about this would step forward and openly accuse Jeannine rather than starting a cream-puff war from some obscure closet of the internet. Every accused deserves the right to openly confront their accuser. Anything short of that is merely hearsay, the stuff of fantasy and whim.

I absolutely guarantee the integrity of Jeannine. Susan.

Jeannine De Palma FoxFire Farms Excellent Breeder

AUTHOR: Saagekochee - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 12, 2008

I own 3 FoxFire dogs and I have known Jeannine for almost 5 years now. I am a Central Asian myself and I know what the breed is suppose to be all about. She has produced excellent quality working dogs who also win big in shows. I can prove that with a Best in Show I got with one of my males in a big california UKC dog show. People like Da Sally are just bitter, uneducated, uninformed, ignorant, and have nothing better to do with the spare time they have, which is mostly all day. Jeannine has always looked for quality and not quantity, she only breeds to improve the breed and keep the working, herding, and protection abilities of these dogs in mind. I am beyond satisfied with all 3 of my dogs, they are wonderful. We only go to a few shows and two of my dogs are already champions. I never have to worry about food, dog, or people aggression with my dogs. I was on the list to get a puppy from Jeannine for over a year before she had any breedings and I was able to get my first puppy. Jeannine makes sure that her dogs will have a good home before she sells them to anyone. She totally screened us before we were allowed to get a puppy from her. Me and my wife have visited Jeannine at her home and farm in person. Her dogs are her life and for someone to say she has produced dogs with such problems is just full of it. Bottom line is that Da Sally is hating due to Jeannine's success, reputation and her stand on what is right. Please if you are ever to buy a Central Asian Shepherd dog, No one surpasses FOXFIRE FARMS. Jeannine will always be there for you and you will get all the help you could ask for from her. It has been proven that Da Sally is a fraud and a fake. If anyone out there doubts Jeannine de Palma it is because they are just plain stupid. It is a privilege to Own a FoxFire dog.

Foxfire Farms breeds incredible dogs

AUTHOR: Evedog13 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 11, 2008

I am a Foxfire Farms puppy buyer and I am thrilled beyond words with the dog I have purchased from this breeder. I researched this breed for over a year before I even started looking for a breeder and I researched breeders for another 6 months before I decided on Foxfire Farms. I am a professional dog trainer so I see the fallout from bad temperaments all the time. I don't want the work it takes to turn a problem dog into a good family companion, and the last thing I need is a dog that weighs as much as me with a fearful or aggressive temperament. I wanted to hedge my bets from the start by buying a dog from the best lines, with the best chance of being healthy, happy, and stable. And I am willing to pay for that.

I got exactly what I wanted. Astrid (J-Lo X Cozemo) is the most self possessed, mellow, and intelligent puppy I have ever worked with. She gets along with my family, my friends, and all their various and sundry dogs, of all sizes, breeds, and reproductive status. She has superb structure, a solid temperament, beautiful movement, and is everything a Central Asian Shepherd should be. Astrid has a lot to live up to, as my other dog, a 9 year old Chow mix I've had since she was 5 months old, is also a super solid, highly protective, but not aggressive therapy and personal protection dog. It takes a very specific temperament type to fulfill the role of a sociable, friendly guardian. Most guard dogs are NOT safe in public but I have a very public job and my dogs must be able to deal with that. I also do a lot of backcountry hiking and camping so I need a dog who can handle human and animal predators as well, but yet not aggress towards other legitimate trail users or their dogs. Again, takes a very wise and intelligent dog to discriminate between dirty but harmless mountain guy and serial killer/rapist guy.

Jeannine is a fabulous breeder. She knows more about the breed than anyone I have encountered and she knows her dogs inside and out. She is willing to make the tough decision to not breed a beautiful dog with a poor temperament and she is not afraid to admit her mistakes, but those mistakes are few and far between. She started her kennel with a b***h who has the most outstanding temperament possible (Astrid's grandma, Princess Ali) and has striven ever since to produce dogs with this same level of stability. No dog without it is bred, nor are dogs with poor hips or other health ailments. She doesn't do this for ego or money, she does it for the love of the breed.

I will be buying a male from her in a few years. No one else is even on my radar. It would have been easier for me to go to another breeder, as I live within 3 hours of another large Central Asian kennel, and there would have been no shipping fees and I would not have had to wait as long, but the cost and the money were worth it for the dog I got.

Foxfire Farms not a ripoff

AUTHOR: Susan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 11, 2008

I am the very proud owner of two extremely healthy and loyal dogs purchased from Jeanine Depalma of Foxfire farms. My first purchase was almost 6 years ago and the most recent was about 6 or 7 months ago. Both dogs were and are in extremely good health-mentally and physically. I have never to this day had any health or physical issues with either of them (one male one female).

My experience with Jeanine was and remains to be great. She constantly touches base to checks on her babies and if there are any issues she helps, but again there haven't been any. Before meeting Jeanine I had purchased another CAO from a different 'breeder'. She wound up being some terrible backyard breeder who wouldn't let you meet the parents of the puppies.

Low and behold I had that dog for almost 5 years before he turned on me and tore three tendons in my hand while trying to bite my face. Needless to say 7 of the litter of 9 already been put down for aggression. Jeanine helped me through that situation and earlier on had explained this woman and her types of dogs to me.

I knew what to expect and it was only a matter of time before he attacked me in some way but I loved him and didn't beleive it would ever happen. With all that said, Jeaninie takes extreme pride in breeding all of her dogs and she would never ever release a dog to anyone's care if the dog wasn't well. Nor does she just sell a dog to just anyone.

She would probably be more financially well off if she did! But it's not about the money to her-it's about the breed reputation. This person is wrong about her. Dead wrong. I would swear on a bible about her quality of dogs. I invite anyone to come and see mine. I couldn't ask for better dogs.

Jeannine De Palma, a reputable, knowledgeable, and honest breeder.

AUTHOR: Danny_p - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 10, 2008

My wife and I are both law enforcement officers in Virginia. When I first started looking for another dog, I wanted a breed that had a natural protection drive. We had plans to build a house back in the woods, and by the nature of the job and the accessibility of personal information via the internet, I wanted some added security. I started researching the Caucasians, and while on a chat board, one of Jeannine's customers recommended her, and the the CAS breed to me. That began my research. I researched the breed, and looked into Foxfire Farms for at least 6 months before I made the call. I decided to call Jeannine, and find out a little more. I was very surprised at how much she knew about and cared for the breed. There was absolutely no pressure at all to buy. In fact, after a lengthy first conversation with me (on her dime I might add), she recommended that I contact some of her clients, and make the trip to NY to meet the dogs. With many other irons in the fire at the time, a new dog slipped by the wayside. Then, probably a year later, I was ready to seriously look at getting a new dog. I again talked with Jeannine, and decided to make the trip to NY to visit. I was again surprised by how well her dogs were cared for. They are truly part of her family, and often eat better than most people that I know. I decided to buy a FF dog. I got a female, Loki. After 6 months with Loki, I had to have another. I got her half brother, Torksuk. Loki is now coming up on 2 years old, and Tork is almost 1 1/2 years old. Both have been great. Very healthy, and a great disposition. I get compliments on them from everyone that meets them. Everyone in my vet's office has fallen in love with both of them. I can still count on hearing from Jeannine every month or two to check on them, and see how things are going. There have also been times when I've had questions, and she has always been great about answering them. When you buy a dog from Foxfire Farms, you can count on having her expertise for the life of the dog. I have never met a breeder that has put as much time, effort and personal sacrifice into a breed as Jeannine. The CAS breed is much better for her work. If anyone has any specific questions about Foxfire Farms, or my experience, please feel free to contact me
Danny

Never had any problem with this dog breeder; report seems to contain missing or erroneous information

AUTHOR: J S Ontario - (Canada)

POSTED: Monday, November 10, 2008

I am a past purchaser of a FoxFire dog; very satisfied with my b***h; FoxFire Kim Possible.

DA Sally says:I met Jeannine DePalma at a show 3 years ago.We talked and after getting to know more about her I purchased 2 pups from her.

Jen says: This means that DA Sally met Jeannine in 2005; the next litter available after 2005 is the litter I got my girl from - early 2006. This was a small litter; 6 pups. Jeannine kept one female back, one female puppy is deceased as a livestock guard, one female is still guarding, one male is deceased, one male is a happy pet and one female is mine. All pups accounted for. In that litter; there weren't two pups ever sold together.

Next statement by DA Sally seems also suspect; I got a replacement puppy
from Jeannine DePalma of Central Asian Shepherds and that dog ended up having severe Hip Dysplasia.

Jen Says: Next litter was born in Feb 2007 - 4 pups; Jeannine kept a female; and 3 other pups went to separate homes; none of them New York. Next litter in 2007 was in August; these pups all went to satisfied owners; some repeat purchasers. Not sure what litter DA Sally seems to think she got a puppy from; but my understanding is that there would be none available.

DA Sally says: Because the female I have from her was bred on a contract with another breeder she is wanting her to take all of the blame and I don't even know the other breeder so how is that a help to me.

Jen says: I cry bull-crap!!!! DA Sally is shooting it out her arse; Jeannine De Palma has used only her lines for pups from her kennel except one dog a long time ago; and if you want the story from that one; it's on the FoxFire Farms website. She also doesn't use other people's female's; she allowed an ex-friend to use her stud dog ONCE! The litters 2006-2007 I mentioned above were all produced with FoxFire Farm's dams and one of 3 import stud dogs.

If anyone even remotely believes the clap-trap that DA Sally is spouting on Rip Off Report; I highly suggest you contact Jeannine DePalma directly; do not believe the internet dog politics. You would be hard pressed to find a more conscientous breeder; who health tests and publicizes or makes available for scrutiny EVERY breeding dogs scores and results. You will never find anyone who temperament tests her animals more thoroughly; or publicizes such documents. You will not find anyone who more staunchly defends the breed; is active in rescue and who cares and worries about each and every one of her dogs; they are her family and it is downright EVIL of the dog politicos and their troll friends to drag her well-earned reputation of a highly responsible breeder who cares and does everything right; because they are jealous or don't like her stand-up for her rights, New Yorker attitude.

Jeannine De Palma FoxFire Farms

AUTHOR: Da sally - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 10, 2008

After meeting Miss DePalma at a dog show, I purchased two puppies from her. Everything was fine at first - and then I noticed both dogs scratching continually and hair loss every where! The vet did skin scrapings and both dogs have Demodetic mange. Not the localized version, but all over their bodies. The male has skin allergies as well as the mange and has lost all his fur. The little b***h - was doing a funny gait - limping - taking the vets advice we did x-rays. She has no hip sockets and she is under a year of age. This will only get worse. FoxFire has been aware of everything that has happened along the way - vet visits, etc. I finally told her I wanted either my money back or the dogs replaced and she has refused. First she said I created my own problems and second said it was the food I fed that caused the severe HD of not one but both dogs as it turns out. Our vet wrote to her and she wrote back calling him a quack - said I was spreading lies about her - we are resigned to the fact that she won't refund our money, but would like people to know this woman is a crook.
