I would like to update this story in my own words, I am Shawn..I did raise this puppy here at my home. She was 11 1/2 weeks, not 13 weeks old when Kelly Roberts of Coushatta,  called to pick her up, she was very anxious to receive her new puppy that same day! The town I live in is 20 minutes from where we met at the Wal Mart, I agreed to meet her there since I was coming that direction for my previous plans and she wanted the puppy ASAP to take to a Shrimp boil with her that day!! I knew she would want her, there isnt anything more beautiful than a liver and white party Schnauzer, and she did! This is the 2nd puppy that Kelly purchased from the Goodman line..She loved the first one and had to have another from the same lines! I handed her the envelope and explained in detail everything in it. She has a copy of the Health guarantee in writing and I read the parts of it that were the most important, No cash refunds..genetic defects and replacement puppy with Vet proof/papers. I asked her to email me or call me with her contact info so I could send her the AKC registration papers when they came in. (which she did receive as promised) She picked the puppy up on Saturday July 25th..I didnt hear from her again until Monday with nothing but her contact info..nothing about a puppy being ill at all! On Tuesday July 28th she emailed me in the afternoon and said the puppy was ill and she was returning her..nothing again about Parvo at that time?? She than emails me and says that she is driving to my town and bringing her back for a full refund NOW! I informed her that her puppy was just dewormed and her whole life just changed so as long as she was eating, sleeping and pooping she would be just fine, I gave her a few suggestions to help give the puppy some extra nutrients. She than text/emailed me and said the puppy had Parvo. I asked her to please bring the puppy to me so I could take her to my Vet for a test and treatment if needed. She harrassed me all morning, insisting I give her the full amount of money back so she could return the puppy..she didnt want anything else! I made a comment that if she was so attached she would allow me to take her puppy to my Vet and I would take care of the treatment and she could pick her back up when she was feeling better. She refused! She emailed me and said she was sitting in front of my home and "I better" come outside and get this D*mn puppy and bring her the money. (Doesnt sound like a pet friendly lady) I told her she wasnt at my  home, She wasnt in my driveway, she told me she had no idea about anything in Waskom and didnt know her way around..and I told her that our yard was flooding due to the horrific storm we were having that day and as soon as I could get my car over the "floating" colvert pipe, I would meet her at the Burger King straight across the street from the Vets office. I was there before she made it there! She got out of the car of hers and had her head twisting, her arms flying telling me what I WAS going to do. She wanted me to sign something that she handwrote in chicken scratch before she would allow me to have the puppy to take her to the Vet. I read the first sentence and it said I sold her a puppy Knowing it had Parvo..obviously no one in their right mind would sign something that states that. I asked her to hand over her puppy so I could take her to the Vet, puppy was looking just as healthy as she did on Saturday. The puppy did/does belong to Kelly so all I could do is try to get her to hand me the puppy! She wouldnt, she refused, she called me names, she yelled, she screamed, she threatend with news people, etc..she was horrible! I told her the puppies life was in her hands and if she was infact positive, she would need treatment and if she passed on from neglect it would be her fault for refusing my Vets services. I asked her where the Positive test results was and she told me in her car, I asked to see it and she REFUSED to show me the paper.. She got back in her little car, continuously calling me names, making herself appear to be uneducated and low class with the ugliness coming from her mouth, her actions and her refusal to help the puppy, if it needed it. I informed her that My TEENAGE CHILDREN and I are leaving if She wasnt going to hand over the puppy and our transaction was complete,  when she refused. I went to back out and she almost hit me with her car! I drove across the street to the Vets office and she followed me over there! I waited for her to go in and take care of her business and I went in after she left. I had already called that morning to make sure they had a Parvo test and to check to see the cost. I walked in and these ladies were beyond shocked with Kelly Roberts behaviour. She went in there yelling at them, raising her voice, threatening to call the TV people again. She took the puppy in with her but never asked to see a Vet, She could have shown them the test results she says she had in her car and made a copy, she was there in the Vets office..she didnt do anything except, once again, make herself look horrible. She got back in her car and headed East on 1-20..I did text her as she was driving off, letting her know I was going to be right there at the Vets office for another hour if she would please bring her back to see the Vet..I never heard from her again..Good or Bad..I had NO idea if the puppy was alive or not..I took the litter mate in, the puppy that had been with her inside of mommy and each and everyday after to have the Parvo test done..just for my own confirmation. The puppy was test on 7/28, about 20-30 minutes after Kelly left,  and test  was NEGATIVE. I have all of the texts, all of the email and the Negative Parvo test from that day. The puppy is still here and has been since that date..No signs of anything! Parvo is extremely contagious and its been 7 1/2 weeks since the pick up of her puppy..We would have known if WE had Parvo by now..everything would be sick or dead! Kelly went on Puppyfind and left a Review. I have hundreds left by people that have actually received puppies from me. They can leave positive or negative Reviews. They can only leave one per person,a and one per email address. She left one and went right back in with someone else's email address and left another one..stating that she "saw over the breeders fence and saw puppies with Parvo"..for starters I dont have a fence and who can see Parvo puppies? Even the Vet has to do a test for these results! Puppyfind deleted the nonsense from a hostile, unhappy, puppy owner that refused treatment.  I have been placing puppies in wonderful loving homes for over 8 years..Although most situations and people are pleasant, we know we cant please everyone we deal with! This is one of those times and one of those people. I offered all I could to her, and she refused.  Leaving this complaint must have made her feel better, She not only pointed me out, she pointed her finger at my sister? Which she doesnt know and hasnt had any transactions with in the past. My sister has her own puppies and her own breeders she advertises for, she doesnt advertise mine? As for the Goodmans..they have never worked for me or me for them either?  Slander is against the law and isnt taken lightly in court. I am not threatening anything or anyone with that statement, but this harrassment needs to stop!  I am pleased to hear that the puppy is doing great, and she is loved and spoiled like a puppy should be! 

           Hello, I am Michelle ( Shawn's sister ). I have never met this woman nor done any business with her. She stated she knows I sell puppies for Shawn and that is so not true. I advertise my own puppies and for a few other breeders in the area. However I would refer anyone to her in a heart beat. She has some Beautiful Healthy Happy Puppies : )

      Puppyfind will only allow each person to leave one review. Each review has to be left by a person that has received a puppy from the seller. If the seller disputes a negative review, They would require the buyer to prove the negative claims. If there was in fact a puppy purchased from Shawn that had vet records showing the puppy had parvo then puppyfind.com would in deed post it. Not remove it.

     This woman has never showed any proof what so ever that the puppy was in fact sick. Shawn meet her at the Burger King across the street from her vet and recommended to have the puppy checked by her vet since the lady either had no vet records or the puppy was never sick in the first place. When Shawn first heard about the puppy supposedly testing positive for parvo she taken the mom dad and siblings in for testing worried sick they too might have parvo. The Doc told her not to worry they were current on vaccinations so the chances of them having it was very slim. Then as expected they came back negative. All were given a clean bill of health.

   I am sorry but you can not get a puppy claim it is sick so that you can keep the puppy and get your money back too. That is a scam Very illegal! And so is slander. False statements posted for others to see hear read is Slander. Shawn, The Goodman's, Puppyfind.com, and myself should all prosecute Kelly Roberts of Coushatta. Please contact me or Shawn if you too have had a problem with this person. Or if you had a similar problem. Kelly Roberts might be an alias and have done this to others too.

This is exactly the response that you would expect from a puppy mill.  When I told Shawn that my puppy had Parvo, I gave her my vet's name and phone number and the vet verified that my puppy indeed had tested positive for Parvo.  In fact, I took a picture of the positive test and sent a copy of this and the vet's response to Puppyfind.  The reviews are false and misleading, just like Shawn.  If you are ever interested in buying a puppy from her, please have your puppy checked out by a vet before you allow money to change hands.  I would also ask to see the kennel and what shape it is in.  And I only posted one review on puppyfind, obviously I wasn't the only person who has had a problem with this kennel.  I don't falsely report reviews, Shawn does that well enough on her own.  And to Shawn, I didn't hand my puppy over because the way you were acting, I knew that if I did, you would just place her in a kennel and let her die.  Since dealing with you, I have heard nothing but horror stories from numerous people about the shape of your kennel.  By the way, after numerous trips to the vet, my puppy is doing great!  Thanks for asking.

I just wanted to write and let everyone know that ALL the reviews on puppyfind are NOT fake. I am a real person, my name is Angelina and I am from Wilmington, NC. My husband (fiance at the time) and I have purchased not one, but TWO puppies from Mrs. Shawn. Both of our Min Pins were in perfect health, as they still are to this day. We have only received compliments on how beautiful they are, or how we should show them because of their quality, etc. I did a lot of research before deciding on purchasing my first min pin, Rajahlyn, from Mrs. Shawn. I realized that a lot of breeders of Min Pins care nothing about the standards. They will try and sell you a sick puppy and label it "teacup mini pincher" because it is underweight. Both Rajahlyn and Braxton, our furbabies, are strong and sturdy and weigh in at 14 lbs a peice! Which is actually 2 lbs over the standard, but given they are pushing 4 and 5 years old, we let them have a few "comfort pounds." lol Mrs. Shawn was so helpful and knowledgeable during my purchase of Rajah, that a year later when we decided to get Brax, we didn't even LOOK elsewhere. Once again, she was always available to answer any questions, very helpful, and both of our puppies arrived looking just as beautiful and healthy as they did in the photos. Mrs. Shawn has been so good to us, that I still send her pictures of Rajahlyn and Braxton, and I am also still on her email list when she has available puppies. I told her to keep us on, just in case we ever decided to add to our family. :)  This report sounds like a buyer scorned who just wanted to ruin Mrs. Shawn's good reputation, and I for one think that is wrong. If all Mrs.Shawn was interested in was a sale and she didn't care about her dogs, then WHY would she even respond to my emails saying how happy she is to see Rajah and Braxton doing so well? Why would she even keep us on her list? She got 2 sales out of us, right? She doesn't have to keep in contact, or wonder how Rajah and Braxton are doing- but she DOES, because she CARES.

I would highly recommend anyone who is looking to purchase a puppy, and wants it from a reputable breeder, to go to Mrs. Shawn. I know I will in the future. And if anyone still thinks this is a "fake" review...feel free to rebute back here. I would be glad to send you pictures of Rajah and Braxton over the years as well. I like showing them off anyhow- they're beautiful, and they are truly the apples of mine and my husband's eyes.

As for Mrs. Shawn--I am SO sorry you had to get a nasty report like this on you. But those of us who have gained wonderful pets from you should be here to back you up. I hope this will help anyone who may have been scared off from doing business with you and let them know not to be afraid.

I feel the need to write here to explain my great experience with Shawn from Goodman's Kennel and to completely disagree with everything said by the original poster.  I got my puppy, Rocket, back in March when he was 7 weeks old and let me tell you this...he is the smartest, healthiest, most beautiful dog I have ever encountered.  I initially emailed Shawn regarding the puppy and was met with extremely timely, polite responses.  She was more than helpful, as this was my first puppy-buying experience and really walked me through the process providing pictures and information all along the way.  I'm sure I drove her crazy :)  I drove up to meet her in Shreveport and there he was!  I immediately fell in love with him.  He curled up on my lap and slept the whole way home.  Once we were home, Rocket was completely housetrained within 2 weeks.  It was like he had already been started on the training.  Within a month he could sit, lay down, shake, up and just became the center of our little family.  My boyfriend and I don't know how we ever got along without him.  I took him to the vet immediately, of course, and he was given a perfect bill of health.  I even remember our vet commenting on how beautiful and friendly he was.  He is now full grown (about 15 pounds) and is just as handsome, healthy, sweet and smart as he could be.  I get compliments ALL the time on his quality and demeanor, even going so far as to convince my neighbors that they wanted Mini Schnauzers too!  His coat, eyes, ears...everything is just perfect!  Not to mention that he is just the sweetest little thing in the world.  I don't know where this person got their information, but I assure you, it does not sound like the breeder or the puppy that I dealt with.  We will be adding to our household sometime soon, and I wouldn't go to anyone else to get our next little baby! 

Also, I was NEVER told that there was a money back guarantee...so I don't know where they got that from.  I was thoroughly informed that there was a puppy replacement policy if there happened to be something wrong, which there wasn't.  Shawn is right, you can't please everyone all the time...unfortunately, sometimes things just happen!  But given my dog's behavior and look when I received him, I don't see how in the world he came from an environment that was less than ideal.  And I actually wrote a review on puppyfinder.com back when I first got my puppy, because I was so pleased, so yes, THEY ARE REAL!  And she probably didn't want people to come to her house because she didn't want people like this to know where she lives!  I wouldn't!  Sounds more to me like this poster has a personal problem with her and is using this to sabotage her business.  Shame on you!

I want to personally thank the  "new families" of past puppies for standing up and giving their opinions in this matter. I appreciate all of the positive and kind words left and I know and you know its the truth and she just cant let it rest. I gave my statement and left it alone.

IF the puppy was sick, at the time we were both at my Vets office, she could have left the puppy and had test done and treatment, if required. Instead she screamed, yelled, threatened and was ugly as she can be! My children were completely shocked when she got out of the car with her foul mouth and hands and head just a spinning. She refused to hand over the puppy to me to drive across the street to have the puppy checked so there wasnt anything else I could do for her. I never heard back from her after she drove off..

I didnt know if the puppy was alive or dead until I received this complaint on here. I did ask how the puppy was and I am glad she is doing well..I here atleast once or twice a month from the new families that have her litter mates and how well they are doing in their new homes! (none of them were sick at all!) I am thrilled to hear that they are all doing great! I am a positive person and refuse to allow one negative person to bring me down because of this..they are just words and personal opinions of hers. Furthermore, slander is against the law..she has slandered me, Mr Goodman and his wife, my sister, puppyfind at this point!

My Vet and all of the employees that work there would be more than happy to back me up and state how I care about my puppies and how they are treated! They have been here at my home for yearly shots.

This is a prime example of why we dont allow people at our homes. This is our family home, my kids and grandchild expect to be protected here and relax and enjoy life..not be harrassed by someone that is unreasonable! Not too mention, when people come to the house, they stay for ever and visit. Meeting at a public place is safer for the new family as well as my family and its all about the puppy, not about my home life and my children. She knew she wasnt coming to my home when she picked her up, if this was a problem she didnt have to meet me. No money was transferred until we met. She was under no obligation.

Everyone that purchases a puppy from me, whether it is one I am advertising for someone else or mine gets a copy of the Health guarantee..it clearly states..no cash refunds, replacement puppy! IN WRITING..and I read that part out loud!

 

Glad the puppy is doing well, hope this is over..harrassment is against the law and Slander is too..she stated her side, I stated mine! Leave it alone!

 

 

 

I had never purchased a puppy from the internet and was apprehensive because of all the bad press some kennels/breeders are given. I found a black and white party mini schnauzer and contacted Shawn Inman with Goodman Kennels. I explained to her my apprehension and she assured me that her puppies were all vet checked and cared for and actually live in better conditions than most people.

After communicating with Shawn extensively via e-mail, I placed a deposit on my female mini schnauzer. Being anxious to get the new addition to my family, I met Shawn at the Burger King in Waskam when my puppy was available to be placed in a new home. We got Sparkles home along with instructions on the type of food she had been eating to ensure an easier transition. I e-mailed Shawn back about 2-3 days later and was concerned about her throwing up. Shawn explained that when puppies are placed in a new environment, different water, this can happen. For my peace of mind, because I have other dogs, I took Sparkles to the vet the following day. The vet verified what Shawn had told me and all tests were NEGATIVE for any diseases or Parvo. Even the test for parisites came back negative. My vet gave my puppy a very CLEAN bill of heath!

Sparkles has adapted to my home very well and has a very sweet disposition. She plays well with my male phantom schnauzer who can be a little hyper but she also likes to be loved, petted, and being my teddy bear :)

I stay in touch with Shawn and give her periodic updates on Sparkles and Shawn helped me sell my toy female poodle because Amber could not compete with my male schnauzer. She became very unhappy and Shawn was instrumental in helping me find a good home for Amber. I receive pics of Amber periodically and also updates on how she is doing.

I recommend Shawn for anyone that wants a puppy that is healty and happy. Of course we all know that things can happen that is beyond a breeders control or beyond an owners control.

I have a german shepherd that was given to us many years ago, but because of a health issue, he is now a $1,500 dog. Not because of anything we did or any fault of his own, he just had a medical problem and cost that much to make him well. So, again, there are never any guarantees on the health of any animal even though we do everything we can to prevent health issues. I feel that Shawn does everything in her power to ensure that all her breeding stock and puppies are well cared for and the puppies are placed in happy, healthy homes.

Again, I recommend Shawn Inman and Goodman Kennels to anyone wanting a heathly, happy puppy. Shawn gets 10 stars from me as a breeder and as a caring person.

Shawn Inman happens to be very reputable breeder, breeder rep. We bought a great min pin form her.She kept us up on the puppy until it was time for her to travel. We live in New Jersey so the puppy was on two different planes for over 6 hours.She arrived in great shape for her ordeal. Shawn also checked to make sure that she arrived safely. I find that its very in probable that the puppy was sick. Where is the vets name to verify that this puppy was sick. If it was my puppy I know that I would have all the proof for any one to see. I would highly recommend Shawn to anyone. She does CARE ABOUT HER BABY'S and likes to know how they are doing in there new homes with there new family's. I hope to get my next baby from Shawn
