Purchased 2 male Chihuahua puppies on 06/12/08 in late evening. By the morning of 06/14/08, both puppies are sick with diarhea and vomitting. Took the puppies to the vet and was told to transport them to the Veterinary Specialty Hospital as one of the puppies was in critical condition and would need round the clock care.
Vets state that the puppies were suffering from a Parvo virus and the more critical of the 2 had to have been exhibiting symptoms for a few days. I have now spent THOUSANDS of DOLLARS on these sick puppies I purchased from this 'breeder'.
When I purchased these 2 Chihuahuas, I asked how many were in the litter. Tim Smith told me they WERE the litter. I contacted him regarding the sick puppies. He stated how sorry he was to hear of their condition and then told me they had a little sister that he had put in with another litter to keep from being lonely and that none of those appeared to be sick. I responded questioning this conflict of information and have yet to get a response from him.
This guy is deceptive. I think he may be running a puppy mill under the guise of being a breeder. I will also be reporting him to the NC Dept of Agriculture, the Better Business Bureau of NC, the AKC and the CKC. Buyers beware before you become emotionally and financially committed and invested. Please feel free to contact me with any inquiries or you would like additional information.

I did in fact sell 2 pups to the lady in question, they were brothers about 9 weeks old, and appeared fine at time of sale. She contacted me about 1 week after sale, and told me of issues with the pups. Anyone can google "parvo" and it will say that it can take effect in 24 hours after exposure. I try to warn people about about not taking puppies to pet stores, public areas and etc. as parvo lives many years and is invisable. puppies are sold with current shots and dewormers at time of sale, and it is the responsibility of the buyer to make sure shots and dewormers are kept current, and that pups are protected from potential exposures.

Our Family has also been RIPPED OFF with at least $800.00 in Vet Bills to date. We purchased the puppy for $400.00 .So we have invested $1,200.00 for a sick puppy that we are hoping to save. Please stay far away from this so called family owed farm and kennel.

First of all let me say that I am sorry that your puppies took sick. But the fact of life is it happens. Puppies are very prone to various illnesses and diseases. Thats why we perform preventive care to try and keep these type things from happening.
We have purchased from Tim and His wife on a couple of occassions, and I must say hat my family is more than happy with the quality and health of the Boxers we purchased. He was always helpful with every aspect of the purchases. And we would gladly purchase from him again. I read and understood every part of the Health guarentee he gave us, and when we agreed to purchase we took responsability for our boxers. Somtimes they get sick...its natural. Perhaps it wasnt Tim's fault, and perhaps you just got unlucky with your purchase. But to try and claim the family doesnt put out quality pups is crazy. I have absolutely nothing but good things to say about my experiences with Tim and his wife.

Something should be done to stop this man Tim Smith from selling animals. The Living conditions of these poor dogs are by far the worst I have ever seen.My puppy is now 6 months old and we have spent close to $1,000.00 the first month just to keep the puppy alive.Tim Smith does not return phone calls or e-mails.I will be looking into further action against this company Cedar Creek Farm and Kennel.

I contacted this man 2 days after I took the puppies home. They were not exposed to any other dogs and the smaller, weaker of the 2 had to be hospitalized in less than 48 hours after purchase. This man is full of it. I beg all who had had dealings with this person contact the NC Dept of Agriculture to place formal complaints. They will also guide you into the right direction as to other agencies and have this "kennel and farm" shut down. He is a fraud and rip-off.

Parvo does not have a 24 hour incubation Canine Coronaviral Gastroenteritis on the other hand DOES and presents the same symptoms as parvo and is treated the same way. its also spread the same way. googling parvo comes up with the usual incubation time frame 3 day at minimum.

Exactly, Tim, you sold sick puppies. Not only to me, but looks like, to many others judging from all the complaints on this site. Silver lining to all those taken by this man or reading this - his website has been shut down and the authorities have gotten involved. They are keeping a close watch on him and he should not be selling any more puppies. My heart goes out to all who have had such heart-breaking experiences and wish you and your fuzzy family members all the best.
