AM Press Assoc, MAGS R US Door to door sales of magazines/coopon books w/no intent to provide any product. Miami Florida

On January 9, 2007 I had two teenager boys come to the door and tell there story of wanting to go to college and/or work up the money to start the own company, they proceeded to explain that it was with the sales of magazines and $1000.00 worth of coupons for shopping/groceries.

My friend and myself looked at what they had, while my friend decided she did not want any I felt it would be a nice idea to help these boys out and paid the $24.95 cash instead of the half now and send in the other half within the 2 to 10 days.

My friend came over just the other day and asked me if I had received my coupon book/vouchers and I had realized that I had forgotten about the boys. We called the number the boys had written on the receipt and come to find it was a sex over the phone type thing and gave other numbers to call. The only way to contact the company was to write them a letter.

We then proceeded to look on the Internet and found what everyone else is reporting, yet being that we live in such a small town here I have also given this information to the police department. I sure hope that something is done for all the people that have been scammed and hope that many more do not have to go threw with this.

The shame of the hole idea is that now more people including myself and my friend will not buy from anymore older students even as hard as it is to not help children who are really trying to do good for themselves and friends. It's just a shame what people can do to ruin the future of children's fun fundraisers just to rip people off!!
