I hope this information will help out some of you. I also was victim this scam from United Family Circulation/Tuscan Readers Services. A few months ago a young lady came to my house saying the EXACT same speech all of you have heard. she is new to the neighborhood, she is homescooled, she is trying to sell mags so her soccer team can go on a trip.

The girl seemed to be a bit odd to me and I was not very comfortable with all she was saying, but against my better judgement (and some pressure from my daughter to buy her the book) I fell for it. Being a "nice" person, I bought and overpriced book ($56) to help this girl out. (I now found out that I could have gotten the same book online for less than $10!!)

A few weeks went by and I never received the book. I called the number on the receipt and got nowhere. I got an automated answering system that went in circles. My heart sank. I knew something was wrong with this picture. I went online and found all this information about the scam. Now I know to follow my gut instincts in the future.

I didn't give up looking online and I finally came across a different phone # on the Atlanta BBB website. The information is as follows:

http://www.atlanta.bbb.org/commonreport.html?compid=11000224

United Family Circulation
303 W Shadburn Ave Ste 100
Buford, GA 30518-2692
Telephone: (770) 831-7733

Fax: (770) 831-7040

If you call (770) 831-7733 you will get an automated system that give you the option to talk to Caroline. I pressed #1 and spoke to Caroline. She did confirm my order and I did receive the book I ordered weeks later!

Finding this phone # was very difficult. It was not the same number that was printed on the receipt. If you call the (770) 831-7733 and press #1 for caroline, you will get a live person. I have called her 3 times and she was very helpful.

I do think that this is a big scam on their part as I payed way more for the book and I don't think the young girl even lived in my neighborhood. But, I am not as angry since I actually did receive the book

I hope this information helps you out!

Good luck!

You are very welcome!

AUTHOR: Sgg - Gaithersburg (U.S.A.)

It took me forever to find the correct phone# for this company. They are a lying bunch of cheats for putting a "fake" phone # on the receipt! My guess is that they are purposely trying to make it difficult for people to contact them.

I am so glad that i was able to help someone else. I hope others come here to get the correct phone number.
