Swift isn't going to pay for the hair folicle test, they do a pee test. BUT, having said that, if there is the slightest chance you will not pass the pee test, put off going until you will. If you blow a positive, it is going to go on your DAC (premanent record) report. If this happens, it will follow you around for a very long time, and you will have a hard time getting a job driving.
Also be prepaired to exsist on $600.00 a week for the first year. You will have good weeks and bad weeks. Going into Christmas, it will go great. It drops off after New Years until around April.
Notes on Swift.
Always check with your DM on you Days Remining Out. A planner can change them, and you won't be getting home. I always set mine at 16 to 18 when I went out. Check it weekly at the least, daily at the most. (I.E. Quall Com mesg. I have 4 days out left, right?) Easy to do. Doccument everything. Who Where what. it can save your butt over and over. When I quit because I was not getting enough miles, I wrote a resignation. 1 and 1/2 years later when I got laid off, they tried to deny unemployment because my DM turned it in that I quit to take care of my "ill" wife, so she wouldn't get her butt in a sling , loosing a good driver. My wife was never ill, and if it wasn't for the resignation, she might have pulled it off. As it was, I had proof why I quit.
Avoid Southern California! You can get a load down there, but you might wait 3 to 4 days getting out of there. While you are there, they will try to get you to run all thier deliveries, at no extra pay, so you work all day for $4 to$9.
Write me if you need any more info, I'd be glad to help any way I can
