Paypal lost ALL of my money in a sale dispute Internet

I sold an instrument to a buyer across the country in LA. I went into great detail beforehand describing the used condition of it. When he received the instrument he claimed there was a number of flaws with it. Without proof, he then "reversed" the charges on his credit card via Paypal. Paypal immediately caved - without investigation or negotiaition and gave him ALL of his money back. Negotiations with Paypal have been fruitless and the buyer is ignoring my emails so I am out $500 AND theinstrument.
Paypal was consistently difficult to deal with through this problem. They froze my account and always "decided" these issues through terse emails and web forms. There was no negotiation. To those who say "I use Paypal all the time without a problem" I say "yeah, but wait until you do".
