Kevin Cole Southern Tier Electrical Inspectors does not file inspections in a timely fashion Sherman , New York

When I recently moved into my new apartment in Fredonia, there was no power. Called National Grid and customer service revealed that the electric was off because work was done on the breaker box over a few weeks ago and the required inspection report was missing. This was Sunday afternoon.
My landlord was fuming, the inspection was done by Mr. Kevin Cole well over a month ago, and should have been turned in shortly thereafter. Landlord calls Mr. Cole several times over Sunday and Monday, and I leave a message for him as well when he won't call my landlord back. Tuesday(!) morning he finally responds and says he had his secretary fax the inspection that morning. When I heard this, I called National Grid again and they said it was still missing. The landlord called Mr. Cole again, and he goes on about how he "hadn't been paid until the previous Friday", which was why the report hadn't gone in yet. One problem, my landlord had bank records to prove that payment was made when the inspection was originally completed.
Later that day we got the Village involved. While there was really not a whole lot they could do, the building inspector called him several times. When they finally got a hold of Mr. Cole on Wednesday, he explains that the report hadn't gone in because a work order number was "missing" from my landlord, but he found it from National Grid's paperwork and was sending the report in immediately. All the while, I haven't had power for now four days. That evening - National Grid informed me the inspection was received and the power would be turned on the next day (Thursday)
Bottom line: Turning in an electrical inspection a month after the fact and making your client's tenant go without power for five days is unprofessional, lying about it with a different excuse for the client, his tenant and the village building inspector is just plain wrong and unethical. Needless to say, my landlord will never be using Kevin Cole again, and I'd avoid him at all costs if you can.

According to my landlord, Mr. Cole actually never needed the work number in the first place, and it wasn't anything my landlord had - just another lie to cover up his unprofessionalism. He was also paid twice, once in October to do the initial check and then again later for the actual inspection - those checks had both cleared months before last Friday as Mr. Cole suggested.
