Panasonic Bad microwave Secaucus New Jersey

I purchased a panasonic microwave oven model number NN-SN657S about a year, year and a half ago. Long story short..... worked great! Used it one afternoon and it just shut off after about 10 seconds of running. The time still showed up on the display, but it wouldn't run any more than 10-12 seconds. You could smell the hot electrical burning smell. I unplugged it from the wall and plugged it back in to give it another try, and still had the same results. I called Panasonic warranty claims department and I was told that the microwave itself is only under warranty for 1 year. The magnatron tube inside the microwave is under warranty for 5 years. I was told by the operator that I had to take it to an authorized repairman and then send in the bill I received and they would make a ruling as to what would be covered. For the ammount of gas it would take to drop off the microwave, the postage to mail in the bill, then to wait and "see what would be covered"? I told them sorry! You already got me to spend 130.00 on this microwave, you aren't going to rip me off again. So it went out in the trash inside the box that the new microwave came in. Save your time and money.
