J & T Crova Towing Inc No receipts, incomplete receipts when requested, made up prices, very rude staff Belleville, Michigan

After an accident on 12/25, J & T was called to tow the car. When asked if I could pick up my car that day, I was told the lot was closed for pick up. Tow ins only. The lady quoted me $178 to get the car out and told me it was cash only. By the next day, the total was $351. Towing was $105 of that. I was not able to tow my car out with my AAA membership because the manager or spokesperson that day said AAA wouldn't tow a car without valid plates and insurance. We had valid plates and AAA has towed a car before that was sitting for a long time that hadn't been insured in a year. When I told him that, he flipped out and said he's been a AAA driver for years and would tell AAA up front that the car was in an impound lot and had no insurance. I said this wasn't an impound case, our car went in the ditch and MI State Police didn't feel like waiting on AAA to get the car out. He said I'd have to pay $55 to tow it home plus a dollar amount per mile and walked out. The receptionist couldn't remember what number he quoted and charged us $50 flat to tow. I asked for a receipt. She said the driver would give it to me. I asked the driver and he said she was supposed to give it to me. So, I had to drive back there to get the receipt. She wrote it for the $50 but didn't fill out any of the bill to information so it's useless to use for reimbursement. This could be anyone's bill. This staff was unbelievably rude and difficult. I don't think they have any standards when it comes to fees for towing. They seem to make it up on the fly. It's pretty sad that they take advantage of people in a trying situation to begin with.
