I was writing this report to let people know what their getting into when thinking about working for this man, Daniel Bensimon. Right before you are hired you are asked to sign an "agreement". The part of the agreement that you need to really think about before signing is paying back money for your training that you werent paid for to begin with.

I ran into this situation when I left the company for personal reasons. If you research the company it will talk about how Jouvence Aveda only has well educated and trained employees. So when Daniel asked me if I needed any training or education of course I would say yes. There are a number of things you need to learn before working with clients. For instance product knowledge, and education about the company that you are working for, along with other things.

I was also approached by Daniel to be incharge of doing spa events among other things that required me to train once a month with someone from Aveda corporate. I thought it was a good idea and thought why not, when I asked Daniel if I was going to be paid for it he told me no but the sessions were at NO cost to me. Thats all he said there was nothing else. However when I left.. I was charged for each session I had. Even one session that I did not go to.

When I left I recieved an email from Daniel saying that I owed him a large amount of money for each session that I had had. Of course I was going to react, I dont think anyone in their right mind would just fork up money without an explanation. Each e-mail I had with him about this situation was extremely vague on his part. I felt it was necessary for him to let me know what determined the cost for each of these training sessions that I had had, his answer "Many factors". He said the cost for Aveda classes are $250 when done with other students and that I had One on One training which cost "alot" more. Was there ever exact numbers? no. Were there documentations of the times that I was at each session? no. Even though there was a session that I didnt even have.

In the agreement that i had signed the paragraph saying that you owe back all of the money spent for your training and education if you leave before a year. In that same agreement it says that if you are there for more than 90 days you are entitled to get training pay that was witheld from you. I was there for more than 90 days. When I asked Daniel about this training pay his response was " This is for Front Desk only"...even though it doesnt say that anywhere on the agreement. He told me that there was not any pay witheld from me so he doesnt owe me any training pay but I still owe him for cost of training.

I am just reporting these facts because in the end I still owe him regardless of the unfairness of this situation. Therefore my advice for anyone thinking about working for him, Daniel Bensimon, to really research, do your homework before signing ANYTHING.
