Rock Tops Just An Employee's View on how they were affected Multiple Michigan

" I have a worked at Rock Tops for many years. My heart goes out to all of my friends which were co-workers (approx. 206 employees) in a bad economy. My heart also goes out to all of the customers that were affected. I would like a chance to tell all of affected customers four things:
1. If you made a credit card payment please call youre credit card company and dispute the item(s).
2. All of the employees including the salesman were NOT aware this was going to happen.
3. On behalf of all the former Rock Tops employees..."We are so sorry this happened".
I also hope that all of the suppliers that supplied Rock Tops are able to pull through this because I hate to see more people out of work.
As for the owners Robert Gasiorowski and Robert Theide. I do NOT believe this was intentional in anyway. I believe they made a mistake by trying to grow too large too fast in a bad economy. After December 19th I spoke to one of the owners and he stated to me that, "we thought we were going to be saved by an investor that pulled out at the very last second". Knowing and working with them for as long as I have I cant belive in my heart that this was intentional. We are all human and being human we make mistakes. My only wish was that so many were NOT affected by this mistake.
At last I want to say my prayers will be mainly with the employees and their familes, the customers that were affected and the suppliers that were financially hurt. But, my prayers will also go to the owners of Rock Tops because they have lost alot too. "

Its hard to believe in the integrity of the owners of Rock Top when just days before shutting down - they took our money - in full, none the less. Also - if they are such 'great guys' - why didn't they have the decency to contact all the customers that had placed orders and let them know of the situation? Why is their web site still up and running? Why did they not have someone answering the corp phone number - atleast giving some information? Or atleast a recording telling of the situation?
This smells of deceit - any way you look at it.

From what I understand, the corporate headquarters are in Macomb, MI.
According to the NBC local news reporter from Detroit that I talked to on Friday, Jan. 2, they concluded Rock Tops was bankrupt, even though they had not filed for bankruptcy at that time.
The Better Business Bureau of Detroit and SE Michigan is treating this as a bankruptcy and advising anyone who charged an order with this company and did not receive it to dispute the charges with their credit card company immediately.
The neighbors of Bob Gasiorowski, head of Rock Tops, told the Channel 4 News that they hadn't seen anyone in his house for over a week!
The news reporter told me that the Macomb, MI Sheriff's department might be looking into fraud charges against the company, but when I called the Sheriff's department, I was told this was a "civil matter" and they couldn't do anything about it.
My heart goes out to all of you who worked for the company and got no paychecks for weeks of work. Maybe if customers and former employees tell the Macomb, MI Sheriff's department what you know, they will investigate the company.
I know of a customer in who paid $2200 on Dec. 15 to Rock Tops in Saline, MI and the store closed on Dec. 19 at noon, for good. That certainly seems like fraud to me from what I have been reading here, if the owners of the company decided they were bankrupt on December 7!
