To Whom It May Concern:

I have worked for 285 media from june 14 2007 untill august 3rd 2007.

Paul Porter is the owner and he has not paid me nor a handful of other employees. He claims his direct deposit company has something to do with it when I have a letter here that states no affiliation between the two companies EVER. 285 media prints ads for " GWINNETTPARENT.COM" Aka Gwinnett Parents Magazine. Also Johnscreeklive.com .

Paul also says he is having payroll issues , Yes we all know. I have many statements from employees stating they have not gotten paid and they are all in financial distress. He has lied time and time again. These people have had there lights cut off and cars repoed also cann't feed their children.

Doesn't GA have an Employment Security Department?

And doesn't GA law address how & when wages due people who are NOT independent contractors (i.e. people who are employees) are to be paid? Most states require a weekly wage to be paid by the following Friday. Any "direct deposit issues" are the employer's problem, not the employees'.

As a side issue, you would be wise to find another job. since you don't really seem to have a job right now, but rather a hobby.

I have a few questions: Have you spoken to an attorney yet? How many others are involved? Do you have signed statements from all victims? Were you an employee or independent contractor?

If you were an independent contractor and completed 1099 you were not an actual employee even if you were paid a set amount. But that doesn't mean you still do not have any rights. I HAVE FOUND 10 MORE PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT BEEN PAID. INCLUDING BUSINESS OWNERS FROM REALESTATE AGENTS TO DOCTORS TO DENTIST . THEY HAVE BOUGHT AD'S FROM 285 MEDIA IE PAUL PORTER AND HE HAS NOT GIVIN THEM A AD IN A MAGAZINE. THEY ARE TO LOOKING FOR A REFUND..
