This company has posted employment ads all over the nation via Craigslist. You complete an online application and submit your resume, and then they request that you do a song and dance routine on their Message Boards. I have never seen such an unprofessional hiring procedure for a legitimate company. One day after completing an employment application, you will receive an e-mail suggesting that you purchase one of their 1000 limited collector's edition t-shirts. The link to purchase this t-shirt is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen, the model is fake, the t-shirt is fake, and it looks like a 10 year old put the photo together. The moderator has already admitted that the picture is fake.

Bottom line is there is no legitimate business here, they aren't selling t-shirts (apart from soliciting potential employees), they aren't hiring and if they are you don't want any part of it.

My final question is why? Why would they go to the trouble of doing all this work to get thousands and THOUSANDS of UNEMPLOYED job-seekers to go through this process.

Either the company is ran by a bunch of monkeys.

Or they have other motives.

If you know anything about internet traffic, you know that google is the #1 search provider. By having thousands of responses and off-site links, (you-tube, image hosting websites, etc.) they are effectively raising their google ranking.

I don't know what they are doing. Personally, I'm afraid that the personal information on my resume could be sold for marketing purposes.

Stay away. And do NOT buy their $30 t-shirt thinking that this will help you get a job.

Just registered 2 weeks ago to tim@whizclick.com. Go check out what whizclick.com offers. From about us page, "WhizClick, based in San Francisco, is a full-service Internet marketing firm focused on lead generation via Google and Yahoo pay-per-click, organic, and blog marketing. We have worked with many businesses to reduce to their costs and save them time. Our clients spend between $500 to $10,000 per month in online advertising."

SO as someone who works for an internet marketing firm, I have no doubt it my mind that he knew exactly how many responses he would get from the Craigslist ads and what kind of traffic he would get to his website.

#2 Consumer Comment

These comments are totally laughable! LOLOL!

AUTHOR: Rolling Eyes - La Jolla (U.S.A.)

Oh, PULEEEZE. Some people need to get their facts straight!

As of today, 1/2/09, Clown Monkey Clothing has not even officially launched. The site was registered just after Christmas. Therefore, threatening this company with a complaint with the BBB is moot.

Positions are not going to be filled overnight. They have not even been built yet. What do these complainers expect from a start-up?!

The option of buying a company T-shirt was simply a promo, for fun. It was NEVER, EVER implied one would get hired for buying one. The photo that was criticized was put together quickly and posted as an experiment for this promo. They are in process of finding an actual person to model this T-shirt. Also, FYI, in the meantime, this company T-shirt promo idea has been pulled for now. It's called "trial & error". Ever hear of it, complainers?

If these few applicants would have exercised some semblance of patience, they could have had a chance to join the team. Their loss. This is a great ground-floor opportunity and one of the VERY FEW sites that offer some legitimate work-from-home positions in addition to on-site opportunities.

These people could have had a chance to win $100 for T-shirt ideas. How else would a company build inventory for T-shirts? The many, many unexpected submissions of T-shirt ideas have to be reviewed, chosen, printed, then prepared for the store catalog. Further, the owner of the company is VERY much involved with his message board and has submitted valuable information, as well as continually asking the forum members for opinions of his ideas.

If the owner of the company is not on the up-and-up, would he have personally responded to questions on the board, and had given those concerned of company legitimacy his personal cell phone number? I think not.

One applicant actually posted the owner's phone number on the forum. That was downright immature. Other immature moves, probably from the same person, actually started a thread titled with curse-ridden, slanderous name-calling of the company owner. Of course that thread will be removed. If someone posted those obscenities on YOUR forum, you would have removed that thread as well. Also, someone (again probably the same person, one of these complaint filers) tried to access the board with threats again under a different ID. Now all posts are pre-approved by volunteer moderators to keep these types of people away. These moderators' goal is to keep the boards safe and fun for everyone.

These Rip Off Report filers freaked out because board moderators hadn't answered their concerns for FOUR HOURS of one day, even though the owner had mentioned that an employee meeting was being held. Once again, the naysayers demonstrated blatant ignorance and lack of patience. One bad seed will breed more of those who question the process of getting a start-up off the ground. That is exactly what happened with the other few negative reports here on Rip Off Report.

Two morals here:
"There are two sides to every story"; and "Patience is a virtue".

PS: I am NOT an employee of the company. I am an applicant, who has had the pleasure of speaking with the owner on several occasions.
