I ve been working for lowes for a year .... well almost a year and on december 27th i was terminated due to a lack of policy knowledge on the store managers behalf and the hr manager. In october i was written up at work for language. Not only was i written up it was a first and final. I was written up 8 days after the supposed incident had happened. I was accused of cussing in front of a new employee. I know who i can and cannot be open with there. I sure in the heck would not be cussing a store in front of an new employee. Before this write up i had no prior write ups for anything. I couldnt believe that it was a first and final.
I went to the store manager and she stated that she would speak to the HR MANAGER and get it figured out. Well two months down the road, and now no job i am furious with them. On the 27th i was written up for leaving money out which i admit to doing, but maybe if i had the coverage that i needed, i wouldnt be in such a hurry to do this and that and a override here and a customer complaint there. I was a head cashier there and i was always on time, and a very respectable employee.. who never called in and whenever i was called in i came as soon as possible.
As far as i am concerned they wrongfully terminated me. I had never been written up before... and not to mention that the other head cashiers said that they had done the same and was never written up or even repremanded for such an offense. It comes down to favorites and if your not in the in group then your nothing. My HR MANAGER didnt know what she was doing and never finished anything you asked her to do. WORTHELESS if you ask me.
Ive wasted a year of my time on these people when i could of been building a real career with a company that wasnt full of lies and gossip and favorites. I highly recommend that anyone looking to be employed by LOWES HOME IMPROVEMENT... take the time to look else where for a job that people will care for you at. And if you are a high paid employee... watch your back, they are looking to fire fire fire!
